Available now from Team Corally are the new Cerix Pro brushless speed controllers for 1/10th and 1/12th scale applications. First up is the Cerix Pro 160 Racing Factory, a top-of-the-foodchaing ESC with 160A rating, adjustable 6V or 7.4V BEC system, all-alloy case and built-in capacitor unit. Designed with competition on-road and off-road racing in mind the controller offers advanced turbo and timing functions and it is usable with motors down to 3.5T.

JJ Wang teams up with Xray

JJ Wang teams up with Xray

Xray have announced the signing of Shanghai based JJ Wang to their electric team. The young Chinese-American, who recently won the AOC season opener in Shanghai, is considered to be one of the most talented drivers at present and he will campaign Xray’s line of 1/10th scale electric on-road and off-road kits at major national races in the USA as well as at selected international events. The former HB driver has the following to say about the deal:

After the departure from my previous team, I had the opportunity and freedom to try almost every platform in the market. After several extended testing with most of the brands, Xray was by far the most consistent in performance and quality. I am very happy and thankful to join Team Xray and be a part of the family for years to come. Special Thanks to Hudy family for this opportunity.

GForce TS 120A R2 brushless speed controller

Japanese company GForce have introduced their new TS 120A R2 brushless speed controller. Based off of the TS 120A the R2 sports a redesigned case with a more complex heatsink design while internal updates make for a more linear throttle response and improved braking performance and feeling. The 120A rated controller is usable with motors down to 3.5T, it is 3S LiPo compatible and features a 6V/3A BEC system. GForce’s optional Progbox, PC Link or WiFi devices allow for a wide range of adjustments of the ESC that comes with a 12AWG black-colour wire set, high airflow fan and capacitor unit.

Exotek introduce new XB2 carbon fibre & alloy options

Exotek have introduced new carbon fibre and aluminium option parts for the Xray XB2 2WD buggy. First up is a 2.5mm carbon fibre bottom plate fitting both the carpet and dirt spec kits. Quasi weave construction insures proper stiffness while the lightweight material makes this chassis weigh in at only 84 grams, 42 grams lighter than stock. The bottom plate is a direct replacement for the stock part.

SRP Quality Products have introduced their new 6000mAh 100C Stock Spec LiPo battery pack. Specially developed for stock racing classes the 2S hardcase battery utilises 100C high-performance cells with a low internal resistance and a flat discharge curve for maximum power over the whole run. The pack weighs in at 295g, it makes use of standard 4mm connectors and comes including a pre-wired balancer wire with XH balancer and Deans-type power connectors.

Hungarian RC Offroad Series Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Hungarian RC Offroad Series was held in Homokbodoge in several electric and nitro classes including E-Buggy, E-Truggy and Nitro Buggy. Sunday morning’s qualifying saw Sándor Paár (TLR) taking the TQ spot in E-Truggy, Peter Loncsar (TLR) grabbed the TQ in E-Buggy and Gergely Csekő (TLR) took the TQ in Nitro Buggy. The Nitro Buggy main then also brought the closest racing as Gergely Csekő (TLR) managed to take the win in the 30-minute final by only 0.238 seconds in front of Peter Loncsar (TLR) while Adam Izsay (Mugen) rounded out the podium further 10 seconds behind.

Belgian SCT Cup Rd2 – Report

The second round of the Belgian SCT Cup was held at the BPT club’s astroturf track. The drivers were greeted by a new surface and track layout with the latter being even more technical with a huge step-up sequence and nice off-camber turns while overall the grip level was lower than before. Rain the week before the race let the surface being slightly damp even on Sunday, making tyre choice crucial this time. In Pro2, Géry Ledocq (Kyosho) started off with the TQ in round one ahead of Edouard-Benoit Michez (Team Associated). Géry snatched another TQ in the second round ahead of Nicolas Evens (TLR) while in the third and final round, Géry broke his truck on the second lap, allowing Nicolas to win the qualifier ahead of Tom Pierard.

Trinity 24K Certified Plus stock brushless motors

Coming soon from Trinity is the 24K Certified Plus stock racing brushless motor. Based on the standard 24K the Certified Plus went through specific checks to ensure maximum performance. First up the motor’s rotor asymmetry is being checked which is meant to be a crucial part in building a fast motor. Typically a rotor shows asymmetry values of 0 to 30 plus with Trinity’s Certified Plus motors not exceeding a 4. On top of this each motor comes with red-sealed ceramic bearings and pre-set timing specially dedicated for 2-cell off-road, 2-cell on-road touring or 1-cell 1/12th scale applications. The Certified Plus range of motors will include 13.5T and 17.5T variants, they come with dyno printouts and are available soon.
