Spektrum SRS2100 DSMR micro race receiver

Spektrum have introduced the SRS2100 DSMR built-in antenna micro race receiver. Designed to eliminate the usual wire antenna and to offer a less cluttered electronic layout the receiver features an internal antenna that additionally improved the RF performance of the overall package. The receiver delivers a 5.5ms frame rate when coupled with Spektrum’s DSM2 or DSMR transmitters, it is of a 3-channel design and it offers extra protection of a waterproof Reliakote conformal coating that seals its electronics from the elements and other corrosives like nitro methane or motor spray. Measuring 17.6×25.5x25mm the high-voltage compatible receiver weighs in at 5.5g and it is available soon.

Collari & Redaelli win at 2016 Novarossi Trophy

This past weekend the 2016 Novarossi Trophy was held at the Fiorano track in Italy with some of the country’s fastest nitro on-road drivers in attendance. The 1/8th on-road class saw Infinity’s Lamberto Collari walking away with the win in the 30-minute A-main from Capricorn’s Dario Balestri in second and WRC’s Andrea Pirani in third. Carmine Raiola and Alberto Picco rounded out the top 5 result.

Exotek Flite V2 aluminium wing buttons

Exotek have introduced the Flite V2 aluminium wing buttons. Made from 6061 aluminium and coming in a range of colours the buttons are now of a lighter and sleeker design, ideal for both 1/10th buggies and touring cars. A large 16mm diameter securely holds the wing while offering a large surface area for protection from crashes. The buttons use 3mm countersunk screws and they are available as pairs in “Tamiya” light blue, “Associated” blue, “Team Durango” gold, “TLR” gun metal, “HB and Xray” orange as well as “Kyosho” red anodising.

T-Works TC7.1 titanium, alloy & gold-plated screw kits

A range of different screw kits for the recently announced and ROAR Paved Nationals winning Team Associated TC7.1 is coming from T-Works. Available is a full 64 titanium screw set, a 7075-T6 dark blue anodised aluminium set, a mixed 64 titanium and blue 7075 alloy set as well as a gold-colour steel screw set. All fasteners are made of high-quality material and included come most of the needed fasteners. Please note that the images show samples of T-Works’s screw kits but not the TC7.1-specific sets.

Power HD EP-XYT single bracket low-profile servo

Power HD have introduced their new EP-XYT single bracket low-profile servo. Coming with a single mounting lug the touring car specific servo makes for a cleaner electronics layout as it does away with the need to run standard servo mounts as three different inner mounting adapters allow to directly attach the servo to the chassis. The adapters are available for the Xray T4, Tamiya TRF419X and the Yokomo BD7. The high-voltage compatible servo offers up to 12kg-cm of torque at a speed of down to 0.07s and it features dual ball bearings, a coreless motor and a mixed titanium and aluminium geartrain.

Mibosport Cup Winter Series – Announcement

The 2016/17 season of the popular Mibosport Cup Winter Series will kick off on the weekend of the 29th of October in Hrotovice, host of the opening round of the 2016/17 ETS. Attracting almost 500 drivers in total including the likes of Ronald Völker, Marc Rheinard, Viljami Kutvonen, Elliott Harper, Michal Orlowski, Christopher Krapp, Peter Pinisch and Hupo Hönigl, last year’s series was great success. This year the series is run in the six classes of Touring Car Modified, Stock LRP, Formula, 1/12th scale as well as 2WD and 4WD Buggy. The Touring Modified class will again roll on Volante tyres while the off-road categories will utilise Schumacher rubber. The on-road races will be run on the proven black ETS carpet while the off-road track is laid out with the same carpet as used at the EOS. The big news for the coming season is the presence of EFRA referee Markus Winkler at every race and more information about the series can be found here.

Spashett & Payne win at AMC/CARS GP

The fourth and final round of the Summer Shootout Series took place in Chesterfield, UK last weekend. The event was run as a 2-day GP with practice and initial qualifying on Saturday, followed by further qualifying and finals on Sunday. Following the recent change to the BRCA National classes, the Shootout Series offers the same classes for LMP12 cars with 13.5 blinky as the Stock class and 6.5 blinky as the revised Modified category. The switch to 6.5 blinky in place of Open Modified appears to have bolstered entries for all events, with nearly 3-times more competitors signing up to race this class than when it was run as open motor and speedo previously.
