Xray GTX8‘24 1:8 GT

Xray has just presented the latest version of it 1:8 GT competition chassis with the new GTX8’24. The 2024 iteration get a complete aluminium front & rear suspension sets included in the kit in addition to the standard composite suspension parts. These front aluminium c-hubs and steering blocks increase overall steering and improve consistency while the rear alu uprights increase stability on- and off-power. Larger super-lightweight ventilated brake disks significantly improve brake cooling and ensure vibration-free operation while reducing rotating mass without sacrificing strength or durability. A graphite horizontal body backstop set reinforces the rear section of the body and provides additional protection in a crash.

ProTek RC 1:10 & 1:8 Onroad Starterbox

ProTek RC has released its brand new “SureStart” Professional 1:10 & 1:8 Onroad Starter Box. The new starter box can also be used to power up 1:10 offroad nitro trucks. The starter box is equipped with a 775 size motor which generates ample power to conquer even the most stubborn engines. Featuring high-quality 16awg silicone shielded wiring, factory pre-installed T-Style connectors, and quick-change connectors, it is easy to maintain and ideal for vehicle start up and to break-in new engines. The wiring and battery tray is compatible with two 7.2V NiMH stick packs, or two 2S LiPo pack in series. A convenient quick access cover release tab unveils the inner workings of the box without requiring tools – just press and lift.

Xpress Execute XQ11 Hara Edition announced

Xpress has announced that it is to produce a limited run Hara Edition of its Execute XQ11 1:10 Competition Touring Car. Making a return to the TITC this year, legend of the sport Atsushi Hara ran the Hong Kong company’s new Execute XQ11 with his example featuring some custom parts that were anodised in the onroad & offroad World Champion’s trademark purple. The first car we featured from the TITC as part of our Chassis Focus, the car generated huge interest and now Hara & Xpress have teamed up to produce a limited run of 300 kits. Each kit will get have special serialised aluminium bumper plate marking the kit number out of 300. As well as all the aluminium parts in purple, there will be some upgrades over the standard XQ11 including a redesigned chassis plate, lowered shock mounting, new upper bulkhead and graphite suspension arms. 1:28 Marka Euro Cup – Report

The inaugural 1:28 Marka Euro Cup took place last weekend in Cluses, France, with 15-year-old Samuel Verdan among the main winners over the five categories. Organised by the MZCS Club with support from Marka Racing, 91 drivers from 15 nationalities created a 180 strong Mini Z entry for the 3-day event that featured National and World Champions for a very high level of competition. The RCP track layout was popular with drivers, a lap covering 77 meters and its 18 meter long straight allowing racers to gain a good top speed. While French teenager Verdan won the Pro-Stock title, it was another French winner in Open 4×4 with Thomas Robin taking victory, while in Open 4×2 top honours went to Portugal’s José Pequito. Austrian Philipp Stadler would do a double with victory in Stock and F1.

Gruber Racing X3GT 1:8 GT Performance Bumper

Gruber Racing, the brand of reigning 1:8 GT World Champion Toni Gruber, has released a new Performance Front Bumper for Hong Nor’s X3GT nitro and electric chassis. The super light bumper weights just 9 grams compared to the kit standard foam bumper which comes in at 29 grams. The main focus of the bumper is to optimise the performance and get more steering. The optional bumper is offered in two versions. The standard version is for cars which come out of the box with a second option for those who have fitted the Hong Nor’s own optional X3GT-78 Carbon Front Bumper set.

Zen-Racing / Team Shepherd has announced the expansion of the Brilliant RC Titanium range of products with a new Titanium Hinge Pin Set for the Shepherd Velox 8.2 1:8 Nitro Onroad chassis. These new machined titanium hinge pins offer incredible strength and durability with the added advantage of saving more than a 1/3 in weight (13 grams) over the standard steel options.

Miborg A800 RCV driveshaft

Expanding its range of RCV driveshaft options, Miborg has released a version intended for the Awesomatix A800 Electric Touring Car. This new release is a complete solution proposed from wheel to cup combining innovative RCV wheel joint and the new unique RJS inner joint. First released in November of last year, the RCV is a unique constant velocity driveshaft, more compact and efficient than a double joint. The driveshaft kit integrates a specific axle wheel assembly with robust 5x10x3 bearings and calibrated spacer to distribute the wheel axial load on both bearings. The RJS is a unique system reducing the friction effect generated by the driveshaft in roll movement of the car. It is a more robust and simple solution compare with bearing competitive solutions. The inner idler rotates freely in the drive shaft head and is lubricated for life with specific lub. It is compatible with Awesomatix “IFJ & IRJ” spool or differential output.

2024 IFMAR Large Scale World C/ship – Stage 1 Report

The organisers of this year’s IFMAR Large Scale World Championship which is set to take place in Sydney, Australia from October 21-27, has just published the Stage 1 Report for the event (link here). Having organised & executed an excellent 1:8 GT World Championship last year at its John Grant International Raceway, New South Wales Radio Control Racing Car Club are the hosts of the 12th running of the World Championship for 1:5 scale Touring Car. The third time the track has welcomed the World’s best drivers having hosted the 2001 1:8 Onroad WC, together with the host country’s governing body Remote Control Racing Australia (RCRA), the club is seeking expression of interest from all international and Australian racers to better understand the expected attendance at the event. Racers interested in attending – or who perhaps have already decided they are definitely attending are being asked to please complete the form (link here) to assist with host planning. The previous Large Scale World Championship took place at Steel City RC Raceway in Fontana, USA, in 2022 where Germany’s Markus Feldmann became the categories first ever repeat winner driving for Mecatech. Having travelled to Sydney last year to cover our first ever 1:8 GT Worlds, Red RC intends to return to this great city to report on our first ever Large Scale race.
