KO Propo Electrical Switch 3

KO Propo have introduced their new Electric Switch 3, an electronic on/off switch for nitro and gas-powered RC cars. The compact device measures 39.2×17.5×9.5mm and it weighs in at 10g. A two digit LC display allows to monitor the current and minimum receiver battery voltage and a LiPo protection mode ensures Lithium-Polymer-based batteries will not get deep discharged during operation. In addition the internal CPU will ensure maximum safety by preventing sudden connection looses due to voltage drops or overload. The translucent case ensures good visibility of all operation parameters and two mounting lashes make installation easy. The switch works with most transmitters and receivers and it is available from end of September.

OneTen Series set for double headers

The organisers of the OneTen series presented by Infinity are delighted to announce our timetable for the 2018/19 season. With the series run at 4 different locations between October and March, each venue will play host to two rounds of the championship. Aiming to get away from the traditional race format played out over a weekend, we have introduced a new schedule that sees both the Saturday and Sunday rounds run to different formats. Saturday will see a focus on longer qualifiers of 6 minutes and short 4 minute triple finals while Sunday has shorter qualifiers, but more of them, and a single 8 minute main, incorporating bump ups. The organisers hope that this will encourage different approaches to each round in terms of setup and driving while the double header allows each racer two chances to get a good result. For the series, 5 of the 8 rounds count towards the final standings, however trophies will be presented to the top 20 in each class based on a driver’s combined result from both days. Entry for each event will be limited to 100 across both classes and is now open for round 1 at RCI V2 in Shanghai on October 6-7. You can submit your entry by clicking here or by contacting RCI V2 direct and you can find out more information about the OneTen Series here.

MiniPro 2WD chassis dyno

Coming from MiniPro is a 2WD chassis version of their chassis dynamometer system. The device allows to measures the RPM, kV, voltage, current draw, power and torque output of vehicles up to 370mm wheelbase and 370mm width. This dyno is ideal for motor analysis, ESC and boost adjustment, brushless sensor adjustment, gearing calculation, tire selections, and much more. It is coupled with to a knurled roller via a pulley and belt to accelerate the inertial flywheel. The electronic board takes the flywheel’s inertia, measures the rate it takes to accelerate and calculates the output power and torque of the vehicle. The dyno repeatedly measures and calculates power in small increments to produce an accurate graph on a PC of the engine’s power characteristics. The vehicle is stopped onto the dyno with adjustable belt stripes, allowing to use a multitude of different chassis such as 1/10th formula, 1/10th and 1/12th pan cars. The dyno is available including or without flywheel unit and it us usable with MS Windows 7, 8 or 10 PC systems.
