JConcepts Chasers 1/5th scale tyre

JConcepts Chasers 1/5th scale tyre

JConcepts have introduced their first ever tyre for the 1/5th scale class, the Losi 5ive compatible Chasers. The tyre relies on hefty, medium lugs which are angular in multiple directions. The horizontal type tread has a striking similarity to the trusty 1/8th buggy Crossbow tyre. Chasers have a squatty, close lug arrangement which gives responsiveness and bites in all conditions. The wet and dry condition tyre has small recessed cuts in the top of the tread for extra edges and increased formability over terrain. The centre overlapping bar treatment increases durability in the highest wear region of the tire. The outer sidewall has added tread at the top which provides extra reinforcement for those tough outdoor conditions while the outer V-lug also provides some paddle traction in loose sand or muddy conditions giving the Chasers ultimate versatility.

Tamiya TRF211XM & TRF102 – Teaser images

Tamiyablog got their hands on first images of Tamiya’s forthcoming TRF211XM 2WD buggy and TRF102 formula kits. Starting with the buggy, the front and rear section looks pretty close to the successful TRF201XMW, the car that took the vice-championship at the 2013 IFMAR World Championships, but the main feature is the new tub chassis that will be made of a new composite material that, from what is understood, will offer different flex characteristics compared to a standard composite part in that it is more rigid without sacrificing the car’s grip characteristics. More information will become available during this week’s Shizuoka Hobby Show.

Building on the sleek design of the previous version the ’15 fan mount offers a tension adjustment feature that allows to adjust the mount to the motor can as these can slightly vary in diameter from brand to brand. A screw incorporated into the main mount presses against a steel ball to slightly close the clamp for a tighter fit on smaller diameter cans to make sure the whole assembly safely stays in place even in rough racing conditions.
