Serpent S100-LTR 200mm pan car kit

Serpent S100-LTR 200mm pan car kit

Serpent have introduced the latest version of their S100 200mm pan car, the S100-LTR. The kit is based on an updated, wider chassis that allows for multiple battery positions. Cut from 2.5mm carbon fibre the chassis is topped off by a small and lightweight T-brace that acts as the battery and centre shock mount while newly designed battery locators keep the battery pack in place. Also new with the LTR are updated steering knuckles with inserts that allow for king pin angle changes while the new single bellcrank steering system with in-line servo positions takes care of the steering duties. Beside the bellcrank steering also a standard “direct” servo mount position is possible. Another new feature up front are redesigned upper arms that do away with the previous horizontally mounted upper pivot ball in favour of a more traditional vertical setup. Other new parts include a friction-free central pivot ball system for the rear power pod, a redesigned rear pod plate and lighter aluminium rear brackets. The kit is rounded out by Serpent’s RCCX pan car shock absorber and available now.

SpeedMerchant GT4-R rubber tyre pan car

SpeedMerchant GT4-R rubber tyre pan car

Coming soon from SpeedMerchant is the GT4-R rubber tyre pan car. Specially designed for the new rubber tyre World GT class the car is based off of the GT4 pan car with some extra tuning options to help get a little better balance and corner speed out of the spec rubber tyres. Because of the height of the rubber tyres the kit will include black anodised military spec aluminium spacers for under the front of SpeedMerchant’s New School Suspension locking in the front ride height at just over 5mm. The spacers also insure that the suspension stays perfectly flat for precise adjustments while being able to take a hit without moving. The new GT4-R main chassis allows to run a transverse or in-line battery and the car also sports changed up wheelbase and width settings for maximum rubber tyre performance. Despite being in prototype stages the car already scored some impressive results at the recent Cleveland Indoor Champs with a round TQ and a second overall in this new and hotly contested class.

Volker snatches last lap win from Rheinard

Volker snatches last lap win from Rheinard

Ronald Volker snatched a thrilling last lap win in the opening A-Main of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series season opener in the Czech Republic. Starting second behind Marc Rheinard, the Yokomo driver would recover from a slow start to the race and helped by an uncharacteristic roll from the Top Qualifier force a pass on the 4-time World Champion in the final hairpin that sent onlookers crazy. With just the chicane to negotiate, Volker would win by 0.339 of a second from Rheinard, the Tamiya driver clearly dejected by his rivals overtake. Running a somewhat lonely race Alexander Hagberg completed the Top 3 followed by Xray team-mate Bruno Coelho who he got by when the Portuguese driver made a mistake 8 laps into the 23-lap encounter.

SMJ short spring alloy collars

SMJ short spring alloy collars

Available now from Speedmaster Japan are alloy collars for the use of short springs on standard length touring car shock absorbers. The collars allow the use of 20mm springs on shock absorbers that normally utilise standard 25mm springs as they bridge the gap between the preload nut and the spring that occurs when using short-type springs. The collars also save time in the pits as changing spring configurations is now much easier without having to readjust the preload nut every time you swap between long and short springs. The collars are made from high-quality aluminium, they come black or blue anodised and are usable with all shocks of up to 13mm diameter and all springs of 14mm inner diameter or more.
