The Nitro Burn Race was hosted by the Lap Paradise track in Johor Bahru, Malaysia with the race attracting a total of 45 drivers from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Switzerland and Italy. The TQ after the three 10 minute qualifying rounds went to Jason Nugroho (Xray) but at the end of the 60-minute main Didier Perrin (Mugen) came out successful. Jason finished in 2nd, the podium was completed by Kyosho’s Ben Panic.

The legendary Belgian GP at the MBV Kampenhout was held this past weekend. In the 2WD class Tom Cockerill brought home the win, beating all the youngsters who made it into the A-final. Nico Risser managed to take 2nd place in front of Jesper Rasmussen in 3rd. Jesper then went on to the 4WD class win after some great qualifying and truly epic wins in A final 1 and 2. Nico Risser showed great patience and took the runner-up spot that won’t be quickly forgotten while Danish talent Frederik Hovgaard completed the podium in 3rd.

Samix have two new titanium link sets for the Axial SCX10 truck available. Coming as 8-piece and 10-piece long wheelbase high-clearance lower link sets and also as a 2-piece steering link package, with the latter being also included in the 10-piece set, all parts are machined from high-quality titanium material, they feature holes for easy assembly and etched Samix logos. The links are designed for the use with #5347 Traxxas rod ends for extra stability and precision and they not only improve ground clearance but also looks and durability.

LRP have announced the signing of 2014 Vice European Champion Martin Wollanka to their electric off-road team. The Austrian frontrunner will use LRP motors, controllers and batteries in his 1/8th and 1/10th scale buggies from now on and he has the following to say about the deal:
Right from the first test I was impressed by the feeling and power. There was really no other option. To make sure I can gain my future goals I need the power of the LRP components.

Team Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri has swept the Nitro Pro Classes at the 2015 Quebec Classic held at Circuit RC Charlevoix, in Quebec, Canada last weekend. Ryan was able to secure the overall TQ’s in both the 1/8th Pro Nitro Buggy and 1/8th Pro Nitro Truggy classes after all 4 rounds of qualifying were complete. Cavalieri then went onto dominate both 45-minute A-main events in style to add two more wins to his already impressive year.

Ilias Arkoudaris has announced that as of July 6th he is no longer involved in JQRacing. Responsible for posting newsletters, press releases and race reports Ilias was part of JQRacing for many years and he has the following to say:
As of Monday July 6th I am no longer employed or affiliated in any way with JQRacing. After an 8 year old journey with the brand the time for a new adventure has come for me. Nothing is set in stone yet but there will be some good news soon! I can’t thank enough all customers and team drivers for their support and I wish them and JQRacing all the best for the future. The Novarossi Trophy was held in Guassago, Italy over the weekend with the event attracting some of the fastest Italian drivers to race against guests from abroad, such as Adam and Ronda Drake. In the F1 Nitro Buggy class newly crowned European Champion B Riccardo Berton (Kyosho) brought home the win from Kyosho teammate Marco Natale with TLR driver Walter Floris coming in 3rd.

Last weekend the German Nitro Truggy Nationals would take place in the South of Germany at the challenging track of the MCC Laupheim club. Qualifying saw a dominating performance for Hannes Käufler who TQ’d all five rounds to take the overall TQ in front of Alexander Schmitt, Maximilian Cordts and Andreas Ruepp. The “Senior” final Saturday night was an exciting affair with Guido Erler taking the 40+ national title in front of Andreas Ruepp. Sunday was equally hot both on an off the track. Hannes Käufler and Alexander Schmitt battled for the title with Hannes Käufler eventually taking the 2015 Truggy Championship from Alexander Schmitt and Fabian Hinderer.
