Ratheisky & Wohlgemuth win at German EP nats

Ratheisky & Wohlgemuth win German EP onroad nats

The German 1/10th Electric On-road Nationals and German Formula Masters were held at the Hamm track this past weekend. The event started out in good weather conditions but overnight rain on Sunday brought things to a halt. After four rounds of qualifying had been run on Saturday it was decided to skip the fifth and final qualifier on main’s day and to go straight into the finals. The drivers of the supporting Formula class decided to skip the mains anyway so Top Qualifier Jan Ratheisky was able to grab the German Formula Masters title without turning a wheel in the finals. David Ehrbar came in 2nd while Jan Bohlen rounded out the top 3. The finals of the Touring Car Stock class were run in pretty severe track conditions and they had Daniel Wohlgemuth coming out successful from Jan Ratheisky and Caspar Nückel.

Chinese Serpent GT Cup Rd1 – Report

Chinese Serpent GT Cup Rd1 – Report

Energy RC hosted their first ever Serpent GT Cup in Guangzhou, China recently. Aiming to keep the race fair and at the same time keep costs low, Energy RC had introduced this Serpent one-brand race with all racers need to run the “GT-Cup” chassis, which is basically a standard Serpent RTR kit minus the electronics. The standard Serpent/Novarossi pull-start engine as well as the standard kit tyres need to be run as well with the only modifications allowed are the springs and anti-roll bar, and some setup related upgrades like caster blocks, chassis stiffeners etc. On  Saturday a lot of racers made use of the free practice to get used to the new class that was virtually unexciting in China before this race. Qualifying started on Sunday and it soon became clear that the rules would make for some close racing, with the top 10 drivers were all within 1 second in their best lap times. The TQ then went to Lin, who pulled the only 29 lap run in qualifying, from Chuan and Hao. In the 45 minute main final positions swapped heavily and at the end it was Cai Cai who came out successful from Ri Chuan and Hian Xi, who finished in 2nd and 3rd respectively. The second round of the Serpent GT Cup will be held on the 20th of September at the Shenzhen KRC race track.

Marc Fischer is German ISTC Champion

Marc Fischer is German ISTC Champion

The German electric onroad Nationals were held last weekend at AMC Hamm. The event started dry but rain on Sunday made things difficult for everyone come finals day. In qualifying it was Tamiya star Marc Rheinard who took to the TQ spot in front of Yokomo driver Yannic Prumper in 2nd and Serpent’s Marc Fischer in 3rd. Come the finals and only Fischer, Prumper and Krapp had a new set of tires left over which would prove beneficial in the very wet conditions. In A1 it was Yannic that took the win from Fischer in 2nd, Fischer would win by 7 seconds in A2 to set up a 3 way battle for the overall win in A3. The deciding main would see the two main title protagonists Prumper and Fischer pull a gap on the field and when the Serpent driver made a pass for the lead he made it stick and would pull a 5 second gap by the finish. Marc Fischer is German National Champion with Christopher Krapp in 2nd and Ronald Volker talking 3rd.
