The latest re-release kit from Tamiya is the 1982 Super Champ 2WD buggy. Sweep Racing Revolt 1/8 buggy tyre

Sweep Racing Revolt 1/8 buggy tyre

Seen for the first time some days ago Sweep Racing now officially introduce the Revolt 1/8th buggy tyre. Sporting a newly designed tread to providing minimum tyre ballooning during acceleration for a precise driving feeling, the tyre sports a pair of centre pins that are completely connected at the base of the inner V-shaped pattern for maximum forward bite. The unique W-shaped tread of the Revolt provides smooth or aggressive steering feeling depending on the rotation direction. The pin size of the tyre is a little bit smaller than with the Square Armor and its height is as tall as the company’s Battle Star 2.0 with less spacing between pins for improved forward bite while providing smoother cornering feeling thanks to the optimal pin flex that also makes for longer tread life time.

Rain affects Day 1 final practice at 1:8 Euros

After a damp start to Day 1 of the 34th running of the 1:8 Offroad European Championships, the inclement weather would affect the days final round of practice arriving just as some of the title favourites took to the track for last and extended practice round at the German event.  With Darren Bloomfield having just posted the fastest time for the 9-minute run in Group 8 of 15, as group 9 headed by defending champion David Ronnefalk took to the track the rain which had been dodged all day arrived leaving the Kyosho driver to pull up after just one full lap. With the track wet no one from Group 10, which included Mugen team-mates Robert Batlle and Lee Martin, would take to the track.  Also setting the fastest lap of the round albeit 2/10ths slower than his fastest lap of P3, the closest on pace to Bloomfield’s Agama was Xray’s Martin Bayer who was only 13/1000ths off.

Thomas Musso wins Belgian 1/8th BL nats Rd4

The 4th round of the Belgian 1/8th brushless buggy nationals was held in Enghien during the Week-end Du Modelisme show. The race was run on a purpose-built grass track and the changeable weather conditions made tyre choice critical. Some guest drivers such as Frenchman Thomas Musso (HongNor) or Belgian 1/10th champion Nicolas Risser (Team C) joined the race and after the qualifying it was Thomas Musso who made a perfect sweep for TQ by winning all 3 qualifying rounds. French ace Sebastian Wartelle (Kyosho) took the runner-up spot after the qualifiers. In the final Thomas again excelled and three wins got him the overall victory from Nicolas Risser and Sebastian Wartelle who suffered from bad tyre choices in the finals.
