Tamiya’s TB Evo.6 4WD shaft driven touring car kit will soon also become available in a limited edition Black Version. It is understood that the car, that features a pretty unique layout with a shaft drivetrain but a transversally mounted motor – as seen on belt-driven cars – is unchanged from the standard “blue” version apart from the black aluminium parts for the bulkheads, turnbuckles and damper parts.

Capricorn have two new option parts for the Lab C03 200mm nitro car available in the form of a hard main chassis plate and a monoblock engine mount. Starting with the chassis, the part is designed to be an option for the standard flex chassis that comes with the car kit. The hard chassis is meant to give less flex which allows to fine-tune the car to different track conditions. Also new is the monoblock engine mount that stiffens the rear part of the chassis under the engine mount area. The single piece part is of a heatsink design to assist with heat dissipation from the engine’s crankcase.

At the 2015 Victoria State Titles Jeff Hamon took the win in both the 1/8th and 1/10th on-road nitro classes. Steven Jovamovic came in 2nd in the 1/8th category, Tim Westwood rounded out the podium in 3rd. In the 1/10th championship Ricky Vocale grabbed the runner-up spot from Andrew Gillespie in 3rd.

New from Spec-R comes a motor mount conversion kit for Xray’s T4’15 touring car. Included is a redesigned motor and layshaft mount made from orange anodised 7075 aluminium that utilises a single mounting bracket for the layshaft for improved flex characteristics. The rear part of the motor mount offers two different ARS toe link positions, doing away with the standard towers, and included are also hard-coated 7075 aluminium centre belt pulleys, a spur gear and a front topdeck mount.

The first round of the Norwegian Banken Cup was held at Kvinesdal, Norway on a large indoor carpet track. The Modified class attracted the biggest turnout of drivers and in the first qualifying round it was current Nordic Champion and Schumacher driver Nikolai Haaheim who had a disastrous start after stripping the spur gear of his car. Oyvind would start the qualifier on top of the field, but several rolls sent him down the pack. Yokomo driver Oskar Fjeld made the best out of the situation and after a slow start he won the first round in front of youngster Tobias Sanden and Rune Svestol.

Blaze Racing introduce a rear pod conversion kit for the Yokomo R12 1/12th scale pan car that allows to run CRC’s slider rear end to combine the best of both worlds. The set includes three new carbon fibre parts cut from 2.5mm material; the lower plate, the upper plate and the rear brace. The conversion allows to run oil side dampers while retaining the standard Yokomo geometry and it comes without the needed CRC alloy parts.

Tamiya introduce the TT-02R electric touring car kit featuring some valuable optional parts such as a aluminium main shaft parts, aluminium steering turnbuckles, lock nuts and ball joints as well as new grey colour CVA shock absorbers and black springs. The 4th round of the South Swedish Indoor Cup for electric touring cars was held in Växjö on a small to medium sized, quite technical track with yet a good flow. In both practice rounds Magnus Vässmar ended up first, with Markus Hellquist just 0.333 seconds behind in the second round. In the first qualifier Markus Hellquist set the pace, beating Magnus Vässmar’s practice pace by 14/1000nd of a second. Magnus Vässmar was 2nd in the first round a few seconds behind and Daniel Carlsson rounded out the top 3. The track then became slightly slower for each of the following rounds, and no one was able to challenge the top times in round 2 and 3. This meant Markus would take the TQ in front of Magnus.
