Tekno CNC delrin shock cartridge set

Tekno CNC delrin shock cartridge set

Tekno introduce a CNC-machined shock cartridge set for the dampers of their 1/8th and 1/10th vehicles such as the EB48 and NB48 buggy and the SCT410 short course truck. They are a direct replacement for the stock guides on all Tekno RC vehicles and will reduce drag on the shock shaft and improve suspension efficiency in all conditions, resulting in improved handling.  They are also more durable than the stock parts and one package will cover a full set of four shocks.

Josh Wheeler doubles at Futaba Challenge St. Louis

Josh Wheeler doubles at Futaba Challenge St. Louis

This past weekend was the O.S./Futaba Challenge in St. Louis, MO. The track was built by The Dirt Racing with lots of jumps and some nice flowing sections that made for good racing. The racing format was best 2 out of 3 qualifiers with two 20 minute main events for both pro buggy and truggy. There would also be a dash for cash with the top 6 qualifiers starting in inverted order. Truggy qualifying went very well for Josh Wheeler as he managed to TQ the first two rounds to take the overall TQ. Buggy was going to be tough with top names like Jared Tebo, Ryan Lutz and Taylor James. The first round went well but a mistake would cost Josh the overall TQ to Taylor James. The 2nd and 3rd rounds went much better and Wheeler TQ’ed both rounds.

Yokomo B-Max4III Lightweight Spec combo kit

To celebrate the win at last weekend’s JMRCA 1/10th Buggy nationals, Yokomo release a special combo set of their successful B-Max4III 4WD buggy. Based on the standard kit the set also includes the recently released lightweight chassis kit that allows to use both saddle and shorty LiPo batteries. While the standard kit is best used in low-grip conditions the lightweight chassis is designed for high-grip tracks with artificial surface such as astro turf or carpet. The Lightweight Spec combo kit therefore allows the driver to adapt the buggy to virtually every track condition right from the box. The kit will ship on August 1st.

Steven Schöniger wins German E-Buggy nats warm-up

The warm-up race for the German 1/8th E-Buggy nationals was held last weekend at the RC Racing Club Eisenach in Eastern Germany. The track offers a good flow that is disturbed a bit by a “skateboard” ramp in the middle of the track but the element is also very unique and now accepted by the racers. After the qualifiers Daniel Reckward put himself on top of the timesheets with Steven Schöniger and Marvin Fritschler in tow. In the 15 minute final local hero Steven Schöniger made best use of his track knowledge to come in 1st followed by Marvin Fritschler and Daniel Reckward.
