Volker tops final practice in Czech

Defending Yokomo Euro Touring Series Champion Ronald Volker has topped practice at the season opener in the Czech Republic laying down a new fastest 3-consecutive laps in the second timed practice to top the combined times sheets from early pace setter Marc Rheinard.  Chasing a fourth win at the Hrotovice venue, Volker knocked almost 3/10th of his early pace to go ahead of Rheinard, who failed to improve, while an improvement from Yannic Prumper allowed him maintain his Top 3 ahead of Alexander Hagberg.

Protoform Dodge Dart 190mm touring car bodyshell

Protoform introduce the Dodge Dart 190mm electric touring car bodyshell. The newly designed all-round body provides adequate steering while still keeping the rear end stable. Already scoring A-main finishes at the recent International Indoor Championships in Las Vegas the body is meant to produce slightly more overall roll than the Mazdaspeed6, according to World Champion Alexander Hagberg. The body is available in both a .025″ lightweight an .030″ regular variant including window mask, overspray film and wing mounting hardware.

Michael Johnsen wins at DMSU Rd3

The 3 round of the Danish DMSU series was held at MMRC Club in Toelloese on a freshly laid out carpet track with 60 drivers competing mainly in the Touring Car Pro Stock and growing Le Mans pan car classes. Fastest Le Mans driver on Saturday was Thomas Mortensen with a 11.7, followed by Claus Ryeskov and Michael Johnsen with a 12.02 and 11.99 respectively. The controlled practice on Sunday morning saw Michael Johnsen setting the fastest time, closely followed by Thomas and Peter. In qualifying it was again Michael Johnsen who set the pace, but now Rasmus B Nielsen had found some speed and he came in 2nd with Peter Harder in 3rd. Thomas started to have problems with the grip, mainly because the carpet was getting soaked in tyre additive.

Available soon from GForce is the Spring Rate Gauge for precise spring hardness measurement. Housed in a sturdy aluminium case the device measures the spring rate of shock absorber springs of up to 95mm length. The result is displayed on a 4-digit display and helps to compare and select springs for a more precise shock setup. The gauge is available in black and blue colour and powered by a 6-15V DC power source.

Stefan Schulz wins at Berlin Touring Masters

The final round of the Berlin Touring Masters series saw Xray driver Stefan Schulz taking the win in the A-main in front of Christian Wehrmann (ARC) and Niko Gorski (Awesomatix). In the overall result Stefan grabbed the championship title some 12 points in front of the 2nd place driver.

GForce TS160 Competition brushless speed controller

Japanese company GForce introduce the TS160 Competition brushless speed controller. Made for 1/10th and 1/12th scale applications and 2S to 3S LiPo batteries the speedo sports compact dimensions of 30.6×35.6×22.5mm and it features a high-voltage BEC system with selectable 6V or 7.4V output, internal power capacitors and an optional high-speed fan unit. The integrated power button reduces the amount of wire hanging from the case while heavy duty solder terminals allows to use the use of large diameter motor and battery wires. In terms of software the TS160 offers an improved firmware for smoother throttle feeling and it is highly adjustable using an optional programming box or GForce’s PC link software.

SkyRC introduce a twin motor cooling fan kit for large scale brushless motors with a diameter of 55mm. The part made from heat-resistant material offers a heatsink design, it incorporates two pre-wired 40mm highspeed 7.4v fans and it easily mounts to the motor using two zip ties.
