IFMAR 1/12th Worlds traction compound clarification

IFMARLogo

Gravity RC announce that their product Liquid Gravity LGC has been chosen to be the only allowed traction compound at this year’s IFMAR 1/12th Electric On-Road World Championships. The decision was made to reduce the change of potential health and/or track deteriorating issues. IFMAR Electric chairman Frank Mostrey has issued the following statement regarding the decision behind the allowance of only a single product:

Important 1/12th World Championship 2014 news:
“In order to have an absolute situation control on rule 4.0.3, specifically:
…”potential health hazard and/or not deteriorating the track surface”
Considering that on a previous world championship the track surface deteriorated, most likely due to a blend of different products.
Seeing it unmanageable for the organizer to control, know, and test all possible mixtures and substances even if these are in a branded recipient nor can he predict the interaction between these products.
So in order to protect the racing surfaces only one known brand of tyre treatment will be allowed and application will have to be in a designated area.
The selected product is Liquid Gravity LGC and will be available at a reduced price to all drivers for practice.
In agreement with the organizers”
Frank Mostrey

Avid introduce these black colour wing mount buttons for 1/10th on-road and off-road vehicles. They were designed after Avid’s successful 8th off-road wing button, they feature a countersunk screw hole and the same contact surface as the 8th buttons for an improved fitment of the wing and less deformation, resulting in increased rear traction at high speeds. The buttons come as pair, they are CNC-machined from aluminium and laser-etched with the Avid “A” and are usable on most touring cars and off-road vehicles that use M3 screws to fasten the wing.
