Yokomo B-Max4III Lightweight Spec combo kit

Yokomo B-Max4III Lightweight Spec combo kit

To celebrate the win at last weekend’s JMRCA 1/10th Buggy nationals, Yokomo release a special combo set of their successful B-Max4III 4WD buggy. Based on the standard kit the set also includes the recently released lightweight chassis kit that allows to use both saddle and shorty LiPo batteries. While the standard kit is best used in low-grip conditions the lightweight chassis is designed for high-grip tracks with artificial surface such as astro turf or carpet. The Lightweight Spec combo kit therefore allows the driver to adapt the buggy to virtually every track condition right from the box. The kit will ship on August 1st.

Steven Schöniger wins German E-Buggy nats warm-up

Steven Schöniger wins German E-Buggy nats warm-up

The warm-up race for the German 1/8th E-Buggy nationals was held last weekend at the RC Racing Club Eisenach in Eastern Germany. The track offers a good flow that is disturbed a bit by a “skateboard” ramp in the middle of the track but the element is also very unique and now accepted by the racers. After the qualifiers Daniel Reckward put himself on top of the timesheets with Steven Schöniger and Marvin Fritschler in tow. In the 15 minute final local hero Steven Schöniger made best use of his track knowledge to come in 1st followed by Marvin Fritschler and Daniel Reckward.

Belgian/Netherlands off-road champs Rd5 – Report

The 5th round of the combined Belgian and Netherlands 1/10th off-road championship was held at the astro turf track of Arendonck in Belgium. The sunny weekend made for a record outcome of 53 2WD and 40 4WD entries. Nicolas Risser (Team C) took 3 qualification rounds in front of Wesley Van Helmond (TLR) with Bryan Van Rijnberk (Xray) coming in 3rd. The triple looked like they would battle for the win as they already opened quite a gap to the following drivers. In the 2WD finals Nicolas was challenged by Wesley but at the end Nico took the overall win.

Darren Bloomfield takes UK 8th buggy national Rd3

Darren Bloomfield takes UK 8th buggy national Rd3

The 3rd round of the BRCA National series took place at the Kent track just outside Maidstone over the weekend. The weather was very hot and humid on Saturday which made it pretty hard work for all the drivers as they got used to the excellent but very technical track layout that had been set down. In response to the track breaking it up at some races recently, the club had added oil to the dirt mix in many areas, and this held the dirt together well providing a contrast in surfaces between the smooth pile desertions and the loose dusty ones.
