JConcepts introduce the new Foxy series carbon fibre battery braces for the Team Associated B5 line of buggies. Available for the B5 and B5M, the parts are machined from 2.5mm carbon fibre, they sport additional machining around the edges for improved looks and they allow to run the battery packs in several positions.

The 2nd round of the Greek 1/8 Buggy nationals saw Tasos Pagaregas scoring an easy win after taking TQ in the qualifiers. John Papanikolaou qualified in 2nd place while Makropoulos completed the qualifying top 3. In the final Tasos lead from wire to wire while his brother John was in a nice battle with John Papanikolaou, with the better end for Paparegas who wrestled down Papanikolaou to take the runner up spot.

Thunder Innovation introduce this multi-function push button on/off switch. The design makes for added security as the IP65 dust and water protection will keep the switch working even in severe track conditions while the low-voltage protection prevents the receiver pack from becoming overly discharged. The switch, that is available in different colours including orange, black and blue, is housed in an anti-interference aluminium case and is usable with LiXX and NiXX battery packs.

Team HB/HPI Racing welcome 16 year old Tanner Stees from Chandler, Arizona to their family. Tanner has been racing 1/8th scale nitro off-road for nearly 10 years and has continually improved his performances at the National level. Additionally Tanner also competes in the 1/8th scale E-Buggy, Modified Electric 4WD and 2WD 1/10th scale Buggy classes. For the 2014 season Tanner will be using HB/HPI Racing’s line of competition off-road kits and he is looking forward to a great 2014 race season and plans to improve upon his excellent results from 2013.

Mibosport will hold a number of races during the Summer in the form of an on-road series, off-road “club” meetings and a single off-road event. Starting with the on-road races, this year’s Mibosport Cup will see the running of only 2 races but they are held on what are considered the best tracks in the Czech Republic. The series opener takes place on the 14th of June in Brno and resumes on the 2nd of August in Blansko. Both events see the running of Touring Car Modified, Stock LRP, Formula and Yokomo GT classes. The technical regulations are the same as used on the popular Mibosport Winter Cup.

The 2014 Italian Job Race will be held from the 12th to 14th of September at the IBR Padova indoor track. The race is run on a completely redesigned track that will be build just for this race to make for equal chances for all competitors. With only one week to go before the IFMAR Worlds in Italy the event may develop to something of an unofficial worlds warm-up and therefore many top drivers are expected to make their entry. The race will offer Pro and Sport buggy classes with the latter being run in control Sweep tyres and also offering the chance to grab a 1-year full sponsoring from Team Orion and Sweep. Avid introduce the Triad 17mm lightweight wheel nuts for 1/8th off-road and GT vehicles. The unique design utilises only 3 corners of the nut instead of 6 to give the nut its light weight, around 0.96g per piece, while also protecting the laser etched Avid “A’s” from being worn off like popular closed nuts. The serrated design keeps them in place securely and the nuts are available in 4-piece packs in black, red, blue or hard anodising colour.
