Martini & Borgogni score at Hobbywing Trophy

The annual Hobbywing Trophy recently took place at the Bientina track in Italy. Francesco Martini took the pole position for the Modified Touring Car class while Tiziano Borgogni put his car on pole in the Stock class. The Mod class finals then saw a clean sweep of Francesco who took the win in all 3 final legs to take the overall win from Matteo Montagnani and Fabricio Manicardi. In the Stock class Tiziano had some issues in the opening A-main but a flawless 2nd and 3rd leg had him taking the overall win from Simone Aleotti and Gabriele Berselli.

New SRC 1/8th & 1/10th on-road bodyshells revealed

Following a first teaser Sprint RC now officially introduce two new nitro on-road bodyshells. First up is the DTR-S 1/8th body. The EFRA 31538 shell offers an increased overall length with an extra wide front section for improved stability in corners on medium to high speed tracks. Testing has shown that the body works very well especially for racing without tyre additive.

Western Germany IC on-road regionals Rd3 – Report

Following a somewhat brief report of the recent Western Germany nitro on-road regionals we now have a more in-depth report available. Reigning champion Christian Wurst has taken his first win of this season in the Western German Championship to put him to the lead in the overall ranking of the 1/8 scale class 1 nitro on-road category. Other winners at round three of the regional championship held on the famous Oberhausen track were young Philipp Roemer in 1/8 scale class 2 and Thilo Toedtmann in 1/10 scale. Oberhausen registered 51 entries with finally 50 participants joining a pleasurable racing weekend at the heart of RC racing in Western Germany with perfect weather and track conditions.

The Powerstar PL-1207 low-profile servo is now also available in a plastic case variant with different colour middle heatsink sections. Offering a torque of up to 12kg-cm and a speed of up to 0.074s at 6V input, the brushless servo with mixed stainless steel and titanium gears is good for the use in 1/10th on-road and off-road vehicles alike. It weights in at 45g and is available in four different colour variants, red, orange, blue and light blue, to match with the colour scheme of your car.

Arrowmax B-Max rear knuckle set & multi shock clamp

Arrowmax have a rear knuckle set for Yokomo’s B-Max line of 1/10th buggies and the V3 version of their multi shock clamp tool available. Starting with the Yokomo option part, the rear knuckle set is designed for the use both on the B-Max2 and B-Max4 buggy and includes two blue anodised rear hubs, carbon fibre camber link mounts, rubber-sealed ball bearings and a hardware set. Six different mounting positions for the upper camber links give additional setup options while overall rigidity is improved at the same time as the set replaces the stock plastic hubs.

Team Powers USA introduce the Xbooster capacitor module for the use with 2S LiPo applications. Designed to be run in parallel with the battery, the Xbooster will support the LiPo battery under heavy loads to help with acceleration and runtime. When run in stock classes and with the Team Powers Radon ESC series it is recommend to replace the original triple capacitor board with the module while in modified classes it is beneficial to use both in parallel.

Ricardo Hofmeier takes win at Dutch 1/10th IC nats Rd4

The 4th round for the Dutch 1/10th nitro on-road championship was held at the AMCA track in Apeldoorn. Being very technical yet fast the track requires a good setup for tight as well as fast corners, with tyre wear always being a concern in the final. With some light rain in the morning the actual racing started belayed with the 2nd round of qualification heats on a quickly drying track. After two rounds it was Pedro Rombouts who took the TQ spot, followed by Daan Stuiver, Ricardo Hofmeier and Sidney Blokker.
