Völker & Ingwethvongsa win at TITC 2014

The 2014 Thailand International Touring Car Championship took place last weekend at the Huge RC Project track in Bangkok. In the Modified Touring Cat class Yokomo’s Naoto Matsukura and Ronald Völker where in a close battle for TQ while their Thai teammates Meen V. and Singpute where hot on their heels. Also in the mix was Xray’s Alexander Hagberg. At the end of the five qualifying rounds Naoto took a very close TQ from Ronald while Chavit and Meen ended tie on points in third and fourth. The Open Brushless class had Thainland’s Araya Ingwethvongsa taking the TQ from Mongkolpan Lomrose and Hong Kong based Stick King. Trin Tanongsakchaikul and Andreas Myrberg completed the top 5 result.

Hot Race Tires sign Mirko Salemi

Hot Race Tires have announced the addition of former European B Champion Mirko Salemi to their official factory team. The Italian will be using Hot Race Tires products throughout the 2014 season, in which he will take part in the European Championships, select rounds of the ENS series and of course the Italian National Championships.

RPM side exit mock exhaust tips

RPM side exit mock exhaust tips RPM soon have this cool looking fake side exhaust available. The through-the-body mock exhaust tips are a simple, ultra-lightweight scale accessory designed to look like a set of side exhaust pipes are cut through the body, exiting from some custom flanges that provide a detailed, 3D oval exhaust appearance. When used on 1/10th vehicles the exhaust resemble a 3″ pipe while the flange surrounding the pipe is a design that supports the pipe, yet provides a shoulder for the body mount to keep the pipe in place. Each exhaust kit comes with two complete exhaust tips and instructions for properly mounting the tips to the body.

Updated RB on-road and off-road nitro fuel

French company RB introduce their updated nitro fuel range that is now mixed using the latest generation lubricants and additives for improved performance and reduced friction within the engine. The new viscosity optimises fuel consumption and improves the reliability at high pressures and temperatures. RB also did away with the orange colourant the fuel was known for to avoid any efficiency decreasing residue. The updated fuel is available in several 16% and 25% pre-running, buggy and on-road variants with a 30% buggy fuel being available also.

Marco Vanni joins Team Shepherd

Shepherd announce that top Italian racer Marco Vanni joins their team for the 2014 season. After finishing second at the Trofeo Picco in Fiorano at the end of last year and finishing in 5th place at the recent Winter Nationals in Fort Myers, Marco decided to run the 2014 season with the German-based squad. Planning to race the full Italian championship, the European championship, two ENS races and some selected international races he will be a great ambassador for Shepherd. Marco had the following to say:

I’m very happy to join this great team with their succesful high quality products. Thanks to Team Shepherd for this great opportunity especially to Armin who arranged everything. I’m already very happy with the car and really looking forward to the upcoming races.

WRC STX 2014 conversion kit

Italian company WRC now have this 2014 conversion kit for the ’13 spec touring car available. It includes a new carbon fibre main chassis, updated battery locators, new split-design FR and RF hinge pin mounts as well as updated steering rail mounting brackets.

Powerstar soon have the PM-1207LV low-profile servo available. Coming in an all-alloy case the standard voltage servo offers a speed of up to 0.074s/60° and a torque of 12kg-cm – both at 6.0V input. The features include a digital circuitry and a brushless motor while the sturdy case design makes it ideal for on-road and off-road applications alike.

OFNA X3-GT 1/8th on-road kit

OFNA presents the X3-GT 1/8th 4WD nitro on-road kit. Based around a sturdy, hard-anodised aluminium chassis with 2-diff drivetrain and 2-speed gearbox the vehicle also features low-profile aluminium shock towers and shocks, a 1-piece radio tray for easy servicing and maintenance, as well as a .28 recoil starter nitro engine with a tuned pipe for added performance. Included in the kit are strong steering and throttle servos, a 2.4GHZ radio system and also semi-slick tyres on black multi-spoke rims along mean looking GT bodyshell.
