JQ Products THECar gear kit & anti-roll bars

JQ Products have new option parts for their THECar 1/8th off-road buggy available in the form of the THE Even Smoother Gearing set and updated front and rear anti-roll bars. The new gear set is the evolution of the Smooth Gearing Kit released back in 2011. With the current trend of hard-packed and often sugar-treated tracks the updated gear kit helps to lay the power down in the most efficient way as it includes 45T/14 front and rear crown gears, a 49T main gear and a 14T pinion. The new gearing makes for an even smoother and more controllable acceleration with less wheel spin and better overall throttle control. Also new are THECar White Edition anti-roll bars with the front wires being available in 2.2mm, 2.4mm, 2.5mm and 2.6mm diameter while the rear ones come in 2.3mm, 2.4mm, 2.6mm, 2.8mm and 3.0mm diameter.

Atsushi Hara wins FEMCA championships

The 2014 FEMCA 1/8 Nitro Buggy Asian Championships took place at the 3 Stone Park track in Luala Lumpur, Malaysia. Despite some issues in qualifying SWorkz’ Atsushi Hara was the dominant driver in the sizzling hot conditions with his OS-powered prototype buggy as he shifted into second gear on the final day of qualifying, easily taking round wins to take the overall top qualifier position over fellow countryman Wataru Takeshiro (Kyosho/OS) and Australia’s Aaron Stringer (Kyosho/RB). Zac Ryan (Kyosho/OS) and Felix Tan (Prospeed/GO). In the final Atsushi stayed on top and in control of the proceedings taking the win from Wataru Takashiro while Aaron Stringer completed the podium in 3rd position.

Team Associated B5 & B5M FT anti-roll bar kit

New from Team Associated come Factory Team anti-roll bar kits for the B5 and B5M buggy. Included in each kit are three specific swaybar wires, blue colour aluminium hardware and the needed composite ball cups. The wires are colour-coded for easy identification and the kits are designed to stiffen the rear suspension in corners for a better handling especially in high-grip conditions.

Yokomo B-Max4 III lightweight conversion kit

Available from mid-July is Yokomo’s lightweight conversion kit for the B-Max4 III 4WD buggy. Featuring a new lightweight aluminium main chassis plate, new plastic side pods, updated composite gearboxes and miscellaneous other parts, the kit is designed to use a 2S shorty battery pack with the motor sitting in the rear compartment, a setup that is especially useful on high grip surfaces. The kit allows to run saddle packs and a front-mounted motor though, giving added versatility when conditions call for a layout change.

GForce Hyper Booster capacitor units

GForce introduce the Hyper Booster capacitor units for 1S and 2S usage. Coming in a black or blue anodised aluminium case for looks, protection and added cooling surface the add-on modules offer a capacity of 250,000µF, they measure 38×22.1x11mm and weight in at 18g.

Agustin Cutini wins Argentinian 1/8th off-road champs

The 2nd round of the Argentinian 1/8th off-road championships took place at the city of Cordoba. The TQ in the Pro Nitro Buggy class went to Agustin Cutini who was able to converse his performance in the final, allowing him to take the win in front of Nicolas Bregante and Lucas Pons in 3rd place respectively. By winning the first two rounds Agustin also took the 2014 championship early.

Axial scale crawler tyres & rims

Axial have new 1.9″ crawler tyres as well as 1.9″ and 2.2″ rims available. Starting with the tyres, first up are the BFGoodrich Krawler T/A tyres, a scaled down version of the full-size rock-crawling championship winning tyre. They are moulded from R35 rubber and come with standard foams included. Also new is the Falken WildPeak M/T mud terrain tyre. Like the BFGoodrich the Falken resembles its full scale counterpart, it is made from R35 rubber, comes with inserts and it is designed for 1.9″ wheels.

Miguel Mathias teams up with Modelix Racing

Modelix Racing announce that former European Champion, three time Worlds finalist and multi-time Portuguese National Champion Miguel Matias has joined their racing team. Miguel will run Procircuit tyres and Ultimate Racing products and he will work closely with the Modelix R&D team on the further development of the Procircuit and Ultimate products.
