Dynamite Platinum brushless motor & speedo combos

Available soon are two new brushless motor and speed controller combos from Dynamite. Available as 13.5T and 17.5T variant both come with the Dynamite Platinum Sensored speedo that has an adjustable timing and a “blinky” mode, making it ideal for open or spec-class racing. The small footprint of the ESC makes it ideal for crowded touring car chassis, 1/12th pan cars and also off-road buggies. The sensored technology provides efficient, cog-free operation especially under hard acceleration. Both Platinum sensored motors feature adjustable timing, convenient solder tabs and smooth ball bearings for efficient power delivery and long life.

Sweep 6.5" 1/10 buggy rear wing

Sweep Racing today released a first image of their new 6.5″ rear wing for 1/10th off-road buggies. Being roughly 165mm wide the wing is a universal fit for nearly every 2WD and 4WD buggy, it offers a stepped design, raised side plates for increase tyre clearance and a large gurney flap that can be cut to size to adjust overall downforce and jumping characteristics. It is understood that the wing becomes available very soon.

Danish 1/10 off-road champs season final – Report

This year’s seven round DRCMU off-road outdoor series came to an end with a Grand Finale at the challenging astro turf track of the Odense RC Minirace club. The DRCMU series this year has seen one of the most competitive for many years. Some experienced drivers, previous champions and some of the best touring car drivers have joined or rejoined the buggy scene giving the regular drivers serious competition. Typical Danish weather with a mix of heavy showers and sun was the icing on the cake, challenging drivers to some last minute tyre and setup changes. The special point system for the final race that saw additional points for the TQ and other achievements and with competition so close, four drivers could become champion depending on the outcome of this final round. As things unfolded Associated driver Jonas Kaerup finally got everything together after a mixed season with unstable results. He won the first to A final legs in the 2WD class with Torben Hoejfeldt (Team C) taking second place. Lasse Nielsen ended the race in 3rd position. After calculating the point for the 2013 season the 2WD championship went to Torben Hoejfeldt.

New option parts for the RB One & RB One R

RB introduce new option parts for the RB One and RB One R 1/8th off-road buggy. First up are CNC-machined 7075-T6 aluminium shock towers. They offer multiple shock and camber link mounting positions and come with a hard anodised finish. Available are front and rear items laser-etched with RB’s distinctive logo. Next up are CNC-machined steering spindle carriers. Available as separate items and with 12° or 14° built-in castor they are made from 7075-T6 aluminium and sport a gun metal finish. They not only offer added rigidity over the stock parts but also help to fine-tune the steering characteristic. The carriers come including new spindle collars that are also available separately. Staying in the steering department, RB have CNC-machined 7075 alloy steering spindles available. Coming as standard 0° or optional 5° castor variant the parts look cool and add stability to the front end of the RB buggy while the different castor angles allow subtle set-up changes. Like the spindle carriers the steering spindles are available as separate left and right hand item. Last but not least comes a carbon fibre heat shield that is attached to the rear chassis brace. The part protects the radio box and throttle servo from excessive heat coming from the engine, it looks cool and has enough space to become decorated with your sponsor or name decals.

JConcepts 8ight 3.0 carbon fibre shock towers

JConcepts introduce carbon fibre shock towers for the TLR 8ight 3.0 buggy. Machined from 5mm high-quality carbon fibre material the towers resemble the stock geometry with the rear one sporting additional camber link positions for added tuneability. The lightweight parts scrub around 18g of weight compared to the kit’s aluminium shock stays and feature additional reinforcement ribs for added strength.

Exotek RB6 alloy C-hubs & mid motor rear bulkhead

Exotek have new aluminium option parts for the Kyosho RB6 buggy available in the form of C-hubs and a mid motor rear bulkhead. Starting with the castor hubs, the parts are CNC-machined from 7075 aluminium and come anodised in Kyosho factory red colour. They weight in at 7g per set and are much stronger than the stock plastic hubs. The second new part is the mid motor rear bulkhead, again machined from 7075 aluminium. Coming red or black anodised the part is machined to weight just 12g while offering exceptional durability at the same time. The bulkhead works both with the stock plastic and Exotek’s optional carbon fibre shock tower.

2013 Sidewinder Nitro Explosion – Report

Chula Vista Raceway was the scene for the 2013 Sidewinder Nitro Explosion with 170 entries and several pros in attendance. In the Truggy class it was Drew Moller who set the TQ starting first on the grid with Pro-Line team mate Adam Drake starting second. Drake would make an early race pass on Drew and lead the field around for the remainder of the 45 minute final. In the end Drake would take the win with Moller in second and Sean Gaffney in third.
