Sweep Racing are currently working on a new bodyshell for the Mugen MBX7 1/8th buggy. The shell makes use of Sweep’s distinctive “Birdie” design that incorporates an extreme cabin shape with a steep angled and quite narrow windshield while the cab itself sits in a very forward position. Pronounced and heavily angled sidepods and loads of free space around the engine’s cooling head are other features of the body. Sweep does has not given a release date yet but expect the body to hit the stores soon.

110% RC Racing clinic report

110% RC Racing clinic

The inaugural 110% RC Racing clinic is in the books and it was a huge success. Ty and Gord Tessmann sent us the following report. ‘There were 9 teams (one team couldn’t make it at the last minute) consisting of a driver and a mechanic.  The ages of the participants ranged from 9 to 47 yrs old, and as it turned out we had a lot of father and son duos participating.  The participants were very receptive to what we had to say and we were impressed by their willingness to learn.  Over the four days there were a lot of questions and the occasional debate.  We did see noticeable improvement in the participants driving from the first time on the track to the last time, they worked very hard.  The youngest driver, Peyton at 9 yrs old, reminded me of Ty when he was that age, very smooth and consistent on the track and very quiet, it was awesome to see a huge improvement in him.

Following a semi-official announcement some days ago Italian engine manufacturer Novarossi now officially welcomes US super star Ryan Maifield to their factory team. Having used Reedy and LRP engines in the past, the winner of last year’s Dirt Nitro Challenge has now chosen Novarossi engines as his weapon of choice and he has the following to say about the deal:
