Maifield takes 2nd 2WD qualifier at Cactus Classic

After a rocky start to his home event, Ryan Maifield topped off Day 1 of qualifying at the Pro-Line Cactus Classic with a TQ run in 2WD Buggy. Having posted the fourth fastest time in Q1, Maifield would lead an Associated 1, 2, 3 in the second round of qualifying ahead of his young protege Spencer Rivkin and team-mate Ryan Cavalieri. For Q1 pace setter Jared Tebo it was a tough round as he posted the 19th fastest time.

Neumann stamps authority Day 1 of 4WD Buggy

Team Durango’s Joern Neumann stamped his authority on the first day of 4WD Buggy Qualifying at the 28th running of the Pro-Line Cactus Classic as he claimed the second of the days qualifiers by a massive 5.1 seconds over US National Champion Ty Tessmann. Having had a bad start to the day posting only the 18th fastest time in Q1, defending champion Ryan Maifield turned things around to record a 3rd for the round.

TQ run for Tebo in 2WD Buggy Q1

Last year’s 2WD Buggy winner Jared Tebo got his quest to retain his Pro-Line Cactus Classic title off to the perfect start as he TQ’d the opening round of qualifying at SRS Raceway. The Kyosho driver took the round ahead of TLR’s Dakotah Phend but only after the US National Champion crashed on his final lap. Only four drivers managed 14-lap runs with Billy Fischer posting the third fastest time followed by Ryan Maifield.

Neumann takes Q1 of 4WD Buggy at Cactus

Joern Neumann has TQ’d the first round of 4WD Buggy Qualifying at the Pro-Line Cactus Classic at SRS Raceway in Scottsdale, Arizona. The Team Durango driver topped the time by just shy of a second over Kyosho’s Jared Tebo with Associated’s Ryan Cavalieri 3rd. For defending champion Ryan Maifield it wasn’t a good start as he managed only the 18th fastest time. Chasing a fourth consecutive 4WD buggy title at the 28th running of prestigious event, he summed up his run as ‘hurting’.

RudeBits B5M LiPo battery brace

Following the respective part for the rear motor Team Associated B5 RudeBits now also have a LiPo battery brace for the mid motor B5M buggy available. Made from high-quality carbon fibre the part is made to be a direct replacement for the standard composite plastic part.

DE Racing TLR, Kyosho & Durango SpeedLine wheels

DE Racing release a few additional wheel offsets to their already extensive catalog of SpeedLine wheels. Offsets include front wheels for the new TLR 22-4, front wheels for the Kyosho Laser ZX-5, and front and rear wheels for the Team Durango DEX210 and DEX410. The Team Durango DEX410 wheels are also designed to work with the Xray XB4. This initial release will be in white and yellow with more colour options to follow.

New design Kyosho Inferno MP9 engine mount

Kyosho’s nitro off-road mastermind Yuichi Kanai introduced this new engine mount for the Kyosho MP9 1/8th off-road buggy. Instead of using two separate base plates the new mount is of a 1-piece U-shaped design which is understood to help with stability and rigidity while the engine itself is still mounted using spilt mounting blocks. The gun metal anodized part comes laser-etched and will become available from end of April.

STRC SCX10 aluminium rear lock-outs

ST Racing Concepts now have machined aluminium lock-outs for the Axial SCX10 available. Adding visial impact and greatly increasing the strength of the rear drive axles, these lock-outs works with the stock straight axles or STRC’s stainless steel axles. The increased precision will also keep the axles inside running true and keep them from bending. Coming in pairs the parts are available in black, gun metal, green and silver. Also available are web limited colours of red, orange, and blue anodising. Complete lock-out and stainless steel axles set also now available in gun metal anodising.
