Team Associated B4.2RS Ready-to-Run

Tekno RC SCT410 & EB48 shock towers and hexes Tekno RC SCT410 & EB48 shock towers and hexes Tekno RC have produced new carbon fiber shock towers for their SCT410 and EB48. At 4mm thick for the rear and 5mm thick for the front these shock towers will withstand the hardest of hits and are a direct fit removing 18 grams total weight from the SCT410 and almost 34 total grams on the EB48. With this decreased weight, the center of gravity will be lowered keeping your car even more planted on the track hugging those fast corners better than before. Tekno RC also now offers a stock zero-offset aluminium hex for the SCT410. These wheel hexes will fit all 12mm SC wheels and with a 6mm bore, they will fit all M6 driveshaft kits. CNC machined from high quality aluminum then hard anodized for wear, these hexes will withstand the test of time. Featuring an all new CNC machined design with bearings and steel bushings for reliable steering and precise track performance, this design was carried over from Exotek’s popular parts for other buggy models and is surprisingly compact and efficient on the 22. The conversion bolts into the stock locations of the 22 chassis with ease and uses all of the stock hardware. The geometry is spot on with the steering rack working in perfect tandem with the front links and suspension of the 22, while the reverse mounted steering cranks matches the movement of the steering knuckles resulting in aligned angles of the steering turnbuckles when turning left and right. Bump steer can be easily changed by spacing the rack up or down and the steering link angle can be changed by adding spacers to the inboard ball ends. The inboard ball ends laydown position also helps eliminate the dreaded ball cup pop off’s of the 22SCT. For proper clearance of the steering rack new heavy duty servo mounts are included so that the servo is positioned 6mm further back. Collin & Wallace win SORC Rd1

Collin & Wallace win SORC Rd1

Last weekend saw the start of the Scottish Off Road Championship hosted by Dunfermline District Radio Car Club.  Round 1 of qualifying was a bit of a wet affair with Chris Mitchell setting TQ pace in 2wd and Kenny Clark setting the fastest time in 4wd. The lap times tumbled as the track dried out through the rest of qualifying, the early pacesetter of Chris Mitchell took TQ in 2wd and Kenny Clark managed to secure overall TQ for 4wd. Chris Mitchell the 2wd pole man was unable to convert his early pace in the finals it was the Schumacher SV2 driven by James Collins that took the win of all three legs of the 2wd A finals. For the 4wd finals it was much the same story as with 2wd, polesitter Kenny Clark unable to take the win, it was the Schumacher K1 of Martin Wallace that pipped Kenny by 1 second in leg 1, leg 2 was an even closer run thing between Martin Wallace and Ross Irwin, Martin just managed over the line in front of Ross beating him by 0.23 of a second and taking the overall 4wd win.

JConcepts RC8.2 Silencer body

JConcepts RC8.2 Silencer body

Seen first at the Worlds in Argentina and then used to win this year’s DNC, JConcepts have finally released the the Silencer for the RC8.2, a brand-new, ground up design which has new elements created for the highest speed circuits. A narrowed, Finnisher stance cockpit allows more fuel tank access a smoother high-speed transition and increased flow around the engine heat-sink. A deep recess around the heat-sink area with dual channeling out the rear provides air escape along with rear-end stability, while the Silencer side-pods have a clipped rear-end, narrowing the rear by angling just in front of the rear tires. The extended runner features are placed on the rear-end of the body enhancing the force placed on the rear pods during high-speed acceleration. The main pods are heavily chamfered and a more heat-shrink design over the pipe, fuel tank and electrical / linkage make up the main pods. The end result has the body looking extremely low-profile with heavy JConcepts edginess and appeal. The Silencer is capped off with a cock-pit “shark fin” for more high-speed tracking stability and increased roof stiffness.
