Vertigo Performance reverse type clutch

Vertigo Performance have introduced their own reverse type clutch for 1/8 on road cars. This configuration where the flywheel is flat and the clutch shoe has been tapered gives a progressive feel and a better more consistent engagement. The system includes a hard spring that gives plenty of punch also on high grip tracks and the set comes complete with flywheel, centrifugal shoes, reverse plate, yellow clutch shoe, locking nut, cup, spring, bearings, shims etc.

Wayne Joelson wins Rd2 in South Africa

Round 2 of the South African On Road Gas Championships were held last weekend at the coastal city of East London. Rain on Thursday practice reduced setup time to just one day, and with high traction and fast sweepers fuel consumption and setup was critical. Reigning 1/8th scale SA champion Wayne Joelson, driving a Novarossi powered Mugen MRX5 took the top qualifying position with a 26 lapper in 5m12 for Sundays final, setting a new lap record of 11.1 seconds along the way. In the reduced 30 minute final Wayne ran 141 laps, to finish 11 laps ahead of 2nd position. The next round will be held in Durban on the 30th of June.

Xceed Pro XF racing fuel

Xceed have released a new blend of racing fuel with 16% & 25% onroad fuel and 25% nitro for offroad cars/engines called Pro XF. Made using a mix of high quality methanol, nitromethane, mainly mineral oil and a percentage of some types of synthetic oil. The castor oil will protect the engine and creates a very thin black film which creates a better seal inside the engine. The fuel is supplied in handy nylon containers in 2 and 5 liters.

T-Work’s Racing aluminium option parts

T-Work’s Racing have released a number of new parts for a variety of cars. Starting with offroad there is a line of hard coated aluminium A-arm bushings for the Hong Nor & Jammin X3 Sabre buggies as well as hard coated aluminium brake cams for the same cars. For on road there is the a set of hard coated 7075 T6 pivot balls for the Mugen MRX-5 & MTX-5 as well as a set for the Xray RX8 and NT1.

Orion CRF B521 & R21 Factory Team engines

Introduced at this year’s Nuremberg Toyfair the Team Orion CRF B521 and R21 Factory Team engines are now available. Starting with the CRF B521 Factory Team Buggy engine for 1/8 scale nitro buggies, the power mill features a redesigned crank case, heat absorbing coating, lightened cooling head and ceramic main bearing. The long-stroke engine is available as 5-port B521 and 3-port B321 with both sporting an ABC liner and 2-needle carburetor.

Exotek F104 adjustable arm set

Exotek Racing introduce this multi adjustable upper arm set for the Tamiya F104 formula chassis. The heavy duty CNC-machined arm set allows to make quick and precise camber and caster adjustments without having to remove the body. The arm set also has better clearance to avoid hitting and jamming the steering turnbuckles. Included in the kit are two 7075 aluminium castor adjusters, delrin camber adjusters, hardened steel turnbuckles, heavy duty nylon ball cups and hardware.

European Nitro Challenge – Announcement

Shepherd have announced the 2nd annual European Nitro Challenge for nitro on-road cars. The race will be held from the 7th to 10th of June at the Hockenheim Formula 1 circuit’s RC race track and is open to 1/10 and 1/8 scale nitro on-road cars in Open and HobbyCup classes with the latter need to run Novarossi N12T1 or Sonic .12 ProStock engines and Novarossi N21-5T or Sonic .21 ProStock engines respectively. The race which is organised by Shepherd with cooperation partners Serpent, Mugen, Picco, Sonic and LRP will not allow for tyre additives and already received entries from pilots like Robert Pietsch, Michael Salven, Dirk Wischnewski, Simon Kurbuch, Daniele Ielasi and more. Jacky Siow wins MBA Cup 2012

The Minyak Beku Agrotourism Cup, an annual event held at the sea side resort in the southern part of Malaysia has attracted some of the best racers from Malaysia and Singapore, resulting in more than 50 racers participating in the 10.5T boosted class. The first round of qualifying saw Jacky Siow from Team Orca Asia taking the preliminary TQ spot with the fastest lap time of 12.281sec and completing 24 laps in 5:00.937. Michael Lo also from Team Orca Asia achieving 24 laps 5:02.352, with a fastest lap time of 12.291sec and Siow WoonFong achieving 24 laps 5:04.489 coming in 3rd.
