VRP D817/E817 V2 rear shock tower

Vision Racing Products has just released their new V2 rear shock tower for the HB Racing D817 and E817 line of buggies. The tower features the same geometry as the Stock V2 HB rear tower with one interesting feature has been added in the form of the wing mounting holes. There are sets of holes that allow to utilise the stock HB Racing wing mount in the stock locations, or use the new Mugen MBX8 wing mount for a finer wing height adjustment. The V2 tower is available in black anodised 7075 aluminium as well as carbon fibre.

T-Works XB4 hard-coated centre driveshaft joints

T-Works have introduced hard-coated aluminium centre driveshaft joints for the Xray XB4 buggy. The parts are machined from high-quality aluminium, come hard-anodised for wear and will lower the rotational mass for improved performance. The 2-piece set fit the 2018, 2017 and 2016 variants of Xray’s popular 1/10th 4WD buggy.

Hot Race Tyres 1/8th buggy carbon wheels

Coming from Hot Race Tyres are new carbon-reinforced 1/8th buggy wheels. They made a first appearance at the recent Montpellier GP where they helped Robert Batlle to take home the silverware. By using carbon fibres to reinforce the nylon material, the rims are lighter and stronger than standard wheels and they provide an easier driving feel all while being more consistent in both low and high temperatures. The wheels will become available from early March.

2018 DOG race China – Report

The 2018 DOG race was held at the Feiteng outdoor track in Guangzhou, China with local drivers as well as guest from Hong Kong in attendance. Drizzle on Sunday morning meant the start of the race was delayed by about an hour but once things got underway it was Alfred Lao Min Hao who lead the way in the Touring Modified class from young Ma Hao Ran in 2nd. The opening A-main was clearly won by Alfred who in turn had some difficulties with backmarkers in A2 that was won by Ma Hao Ran. So the final main would decide the overall result and in the end it was Alfred Lao Min Hao with the win from Ma Hao Ran and Chan Chau Man in 2nd and 3rd respectively.

Traxxas have introduced the TRX-4 trail truck chassis kit. The new kit combines the same innovative features as the RTR vehicle with the fun and excitement of building your own kit. The TRX-4 Chassis Kit arrives ready to assemble with a full-colour instruction guide, TQi 4-channel 2.4GHz radio system, and complete waterproof electronics including servos, XL-5 HV ESC, and Titan 21T motor. Key parts like shocks and suspension links come pre-assembled to make building easy and fun. Modellers need to choose their own body, battery, and charger – sold separately – to complete the custom ride.

Xray Racing Series Australia Rd1 – Report

The opening round of the Xray Racing Series Australia was held recently in perfect weather conditions. Overnight rain on Saturday washed away the sugar added to the surface and so round one for everyone was slippery but the track grip did come back up 95 percent by the end of the day. In Modified Touring it was Xray’s Ari Bakla with the win from Yokomo’s Simon Nicholson and Awesomatix driver Jeffrey MacKie.

BRCA LMP National Rd5 – Report

The fifth round of the BRCA LMP national series take place at the Newbury RC club last weekend. The event took place over two days, with Saturday seeing all drivers competing in the 13.5 Stock class, and Sunday seeing the field split into 6.5 Modified and 13.5 Sports Modified. The club last held a national two years ago, but the huge experience of the organising team saw a small but challenging track laid out for the attending drivers. The Newbury club run on ETS style carpet, and with the mix of touring car additive and large numbers of cars running, the track soon picked up grip and many drivers were adjusting setup to counter grip roll.

Jade Lim wins at GP Challenge Cup

The KLIRCC International track in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia played host to the GP Challenge Cup recently. The event was held in several on-road classes and attracted local racers as well as guests from Singapore. In the 1/8th Nitro category it was Xray’s Jade Lim with the win in the main final from Shepherd’s Austin Wong and Xray driver Dixon Chen.
