New from Xray for their NT1 and RX8 chassis’ are these titanium 8.4mm pivot balls. Precisely hand ground for high durability and long life, a single Ti pivot ball is 41% lighter than its steel counterpart. Sold in a set of 4, all steel pivot balls being replaced by these new versions gives a total combined weight saving is 12.3 grams.

Simões & Miguel take Portuguese Rd2 victory

Round 2 of the Portuguese Nationals took place recently at the Sintra track in Lisbon. The stock class was again dominated by Jorge Simões with his Associated TC6 securing TQ and the overall win. This time Mário Coelho was the man that challenged Jorge in the Finals, with Mário winning the first A-main but then some accidents in A-main 2 took him out of contention. In the last A-main Mário followed Jorge in the last 4 minutes, but the Associated driver never gived a space for the Tamiya of Mário to pass and secured the win and provisional leadership of the championship.

MR33, brand of 3-time World Champion Marc Rheinard, have introduced some new items to the growing line of products. Firstly is the line of gear diff oil which comes in 4 different types, A, B, C & D. This temperature resistant and long lasting oil comes in 50ml bottles. Also new is a multi-gauge for measuring ride-height and downstop settings. Made from black anodised aluminium, the measurements are printed onto the surface with the ride height ranging from 2.5mm to 6.0mm in 0.25mm increments, while the droop can be measured from 4.0mm to 7.0mm. Speedzone have announced that multiple US Nationals Champion Mike Dumas, will use Speedzone LiPo Packs to power his touring and 1/12 cars.  Speedzone is very excited to have a driver with the caliber of Mike Dumas join the team. Having come back from a two year hiatus from r/c racing to start his own restaurant, Mike won an extremely exciting and close 1/12 13.5 A-Main at the Snowbirds earlier in the season and had this to say “The batteries perform as good as any other batteries I have ever run.”

Bowie Ginting wins Jakarta Grand Prix series Rd3

The third round of 2011 Jakarta Grand Prix series for 1/10 200mm was held at the JITC Race Track in Jakarta, Indonesia. The weather was perfectly clear all day and in qualifying it was Teddy Syach that took his OS powered Kyosho to the TQ spot with 18 laps @ 5.06. Followed by the series points leader, Bowie Ginting 4,8 seconds back. Dimas Ardian (Kyosho), Sewaka Ramadhani (Xray) and Chandra Yosef (Xray) completed the top 5 position for the main final.
