Made for Xray’s XT2 2WD stadium truck are new 5mm carbon fibre shock towers from Exotek. Cut from USA-made glossy-finish 5mm material the towers are light of weight and they offer a more consistent handling especially on high-grip surfaces compared to the standard composite parts. The towers match the stock geometry and are available as front, rear laydown and rear standard gearbox variant – the latter two include mounting hardware and utilise countersunk screws to keep the tower squared up on the gearbox and tweak-free when used with the supplied csk hardware.

Magnus Vässmar wins at MSEC opener

The opening round of the 2017/18 Middle Swedish Indoor Cup was held in Orebro, Sweden this past weekend. The track was technical and provided medium high traction throughout the race day. In the Touring Modified class Magnus Vässmar took a convincing TQ by securing all rounds of qualifying with his Muchmore-powered Schumacher car. Daniel Carlsson and his Hobbywing-propelled Team Associated would line up second on the A-Main grid followed by Rasmus Karlsson (Schumacher/Muchmore). The finals got underway and Magnus took A1 with a tone-to-tone victory and with a 1-lap margin. Daniel took the runner-up spot in front of Andreas Johansson. In A2 Magnus had a DNF due to a clash with a backmarker which would leave the overall result open for A3 to decide as Daniel won A2 in front of Rasmus. In A3 Magnus took the overall win courtesy of a tone-to-tone win in front of Daniel and Rasmus and this would also be the overall top 3 result.

Thanks to Magnus Vässmar for the report.

Schelle AE V2 12mm pistons & B64 LP battery posts

Schelle Racing Innovations have new Team Associated V2 12mm pistons as well as AE B64 low-profile battery posts available. Starting with the shock pistons, they are now available in three new variants. The 3×1.5mm flat pistons are popular for 2WD and 4WD buggies in rear while the new 3+1 line of split hole pistons, with the +1 additional hole added to give more grip and forgiveness, is better used in bumpy conditions compared to a standard 3-hole. The addition of the small 4th hole gives less low-speed damping resistance, resulting in more traction. It also alters the damping progression relative to a conventional piston, giving less resistance initially before ramping as the shock speed increases.
