Durango moulded inserts and cross shaft set

Team Durango’s new moulded inserts and cross shaft set fits the differentials in all Team Durango 1/8th scale models. These parts replace the steel cross shafts and inserts in the differential, offering a huge reduction in weight over the steel parts. The moulded parts are 80% lighter than the steel parts they replace, giving a total weight saving of 22.2g per vehicle. They have been extensively tested by their Pro team who found an increase in acceleration and breaking performance due to the reduction in the rotating mass of their cars’ transmission. The testing has shown that there is no detrimental effect in durability when using these moulded parts. Supplied in a set of 3, which is enough to replace the cross shafts and differential inserts in the front, centre and rear differentials in one vehicle.

Kinwald victorious at TrackStar Off-Road Champs

SDRC Raceway in San Diego, California hosted its first annual TrackStar Off-Road Championships where many quick Southern California racers often do battle on a weekly basis. Brian Kinwald made the trip over from Phoenix, Arizona, to compete against some of best SDRC racers with his JConcepts equipped Team Associated vehicles. VP Pro RS-502 Evo clutch shoes

VP Pro has announced Evo versions of their RS-502 clutch shoe and RS-502H heavier clutch shoe. Made with a new aluminium alloy, the clutch shoes are now more durable while the weight has been altered. A tiny washer coming with the clutch shoes is the most outstanding feature. After long-term tests and research, they found if they insert a tiny round washer between the clutch shoe and flywheel, friction is largely reduced and thus the engine spools quicker. One set of clutch shoes includes 3 clutch shoes, 3 washers and 3 sets of springs, 0.9mm gold, 1.0mm silver and 1.1mm black.

Tanner Stees dominates Battle on the Beach

The annual Battle on the Beach race at Lake Havasu was held recently and JQ driver Tanner Stees filed this report. “I traveled to Lake Havasu City, AZ for the Battle on the Beach race for the second year in a row. I really like this track. The people that promote it and attend the race are great. The weather was sunny and about 85 all weekend. The track was new and a bit loose but it packed in and had good traction as the weekend went on. I was racing 4 classes: 1/8 scale nitro buggy, truggy, 1/10 2wd mod buggy and Pro2 Short Course. Open practice was Friday and we arrived in time to get about 4 hours of practice to sort things out.

Kaja Novotny double in Czech Republic

The first round of the Lestr Cup Series in the Czech Republic took place last weekend and Team Durango driver Kaja Novotny gave this report. “On Saturday 3rd November the first race of Lestr Cup Series too place. I drove in three categories, 2WD buggy with my DEX210, 4WD buggy with my DEX410v3 and 1/8 E-buggy with my DEX408. Qualification was awesome, taking TQ in all three categories. The 4WD finals were much more difficult (only 2WD was an easy win). In 1/8 E-buggy I won the first and third finals, in the second final I had some problems with my transmitter. 4WD was an amazing race. In the first final I finished just two seconds behind Martin Bayer, and in the second final I was leading but because of my mistake I had to retire, leaving Martin to take the win. The third 4WD final was an easy win for me because Martin had already won the event, so he didn’t drive the last final so I ended up 2nd overall.”
