Nicolai Lindegaard takes SuperStock Rd2 in Denmark

The 2nd round of the Danish 1/10th touring car championships was last weekend at the well known ‘Rainbow’ Track in Glostrup in Denmark, which hosted the Euros back in 2005. There was 17 SuperStock Drivers and 9 Modified drivers and Xray driver Nicolai Lindegaard sent us this report. On Saturday we did some very small setup changes having tested a lot in the weeks leading up to this race and so the car was fast, very smooth and easy to drive. The grip wasn’t so high but we didn’t change a lot of set-up because we expected more grip on the race day. The track is very nice with a very good flow so we were very excited to the Sunday’s race.

Capricorn 1/8 setup system & C-801 chassis plate

Capricorn-OnroadSetup

Capricorn got in touch to tell us about their new 1/8 scale setup system and ultra lightweight chassis for the LAB C-801. The setup is specially designed to allow the adjustment of the the rear camber and toe settings without the need to remove the body mount. Cut-outs in the aluminium camber and polycarbonate toe plates leave room for the body mount. This makes for fast and easy set-up changes. The updated ultra lightweight chassis for the LAB C-801 features a re-designed front area with additional material removed under the front bulkhead area resulting in more torsional flex creating an increased steering response with the positive effect of saving some weight.

Serpent S411 aluminium options

Serpent have released more new optional parts for their newly released S411, with the introduction of some new aluminium parts. First up are these aluminium track-rods (M3x38mm) and aluminium camber-rods (M3x26mm) to replace the kit spring-steel version, for those drivers looking for extra weight savings. Serpent have also produced a 19T anodized aluminium middle shaft pulley. This new part is very light and offers a lower wear rate with less debris staying on the pulleys surface than the kit version.

Serpent 966 super-light gearbox

Serpent 966 super-light gearbox

Seen at the World Championship back in April, Serpent have released their new new super-light gearbox for the 966. The current Serpent gearbox system has been in use for a very long time, and the Serpent design has become the industry standard, with small revisions only. Stronger engines, research, racing and new insights have fueled the new gearbox design and the goal was to reduce inertia, fluent power transfer and increase reliability even further. The gears have been improved, made lighter, more durable with improved gear mesh. A new aluminium flange which seats the German made one-way bearing is lighter and the bearing is seated more in the inside of the flange for better balance. A new aluminium bell is stiffer and thicker to stand the force of the shoes better and the bearing is in the center to create even forces on the bearing. A new aluminium brake-pulley adapter features 3 steel pins, and also requires a new brake-disk which is also included, and a new mono-type side pulley/pulley-adapter.

Pedro Rombouts wins Rd3 of Dutch 1/10th Nats

Round 3 of the Dutch 1/10th 200mm National Championships was held last weekend at the technical Gouda track in the middle of the country. Saturday’s practice was very wet and so nobody got any track time to find a setup for this tricky track, meaning Sunday’s early qualifying rounds saw some people struggling. Qualifying in the NK class went the way of reigning Champion Pedro Rombouts, with Arco de Jong, Sander Borghoff and Remy Moller completing the top 4. In the final the top 2 remained unchanged with Pedro taking the win by less than a lap from Arco, with Dennis van Lameren completing the podium in 3rd. In the Nomac class it was Bart van de Water that was the clear winner from Ad Vissenberg in 2nd with Marcel Haenen in 3rd spot. The Kyosho Sport class was won by Jos Remmerde from Wouter Horselenberg and Mark Been while in the Kyosho Start class Mats van Kleef won with Lars Hovingh in 2nd and Danial Khalesi 3rd.
