Reds buggy engine line update

Reds report that they introduce some updates to their R series buggy engines in order to increase reliability and performance, and to lower the fuel consumption. The R5T will come with the long needle carburettor that is already being used for the R5 engine. The part improves fuel economy and guarantees a linear power output. The updated R5 will come with a completely redesigned crankshaft, in order to guarantee higher performance and efficiency. Compared to the previous crankshaft, the general surface finishing has been improved in order to provide a better fluid dynamic. Moreover the red silicone filling reduces weight and the rotating mass.

Root & Dunford win Rd3 of TLR Series Sunday

TLR and Losi’s Frank Root and Ryan Dunford were on hand at the 3rd round of the TLR Series Sunday at Orange Country R/C Raceway (OCRC). The track had fantastic traction and a very fast layout and the entry count was very strong at over 110 and a great day of racing was had by all. There were 2 heats of modified buggy and the qualifying action was intense.  Frank Root had a great run going in the first round, but a late mistake would drop him from a possible TQ to 5th. The second round saw Frank show the same speed from round 1 and keep it clean throughout to take a strong TQ by over 4 seconds.  When the tone went off, Root jumped out to a quick start to gap the field.  About 4 minutes in, Frank had a slight interaction with traffic and surrendered the lead. He would battle wheel to wheel for the next 3 laps and took the lead for good with 1 lap to go.  After regaining the lead, Frank would make it by for his 16th lap, and cruise home for the win.
