Grainger & Bowden wins BRCA TC Season Finale

Grainger & Bowden wins BRCA TC Season Finale

2009 saw the BRCA 1:10 electric section return to one of the longest established outdoor tracks in the UK, Mendip, this was the final round of the touring car national series and saw a victory for Chris Grainger. Chris had already secured this years title at the previous round and was under no pressure as he dominated the event with his Mi4. In qualifying Chris set pole position for the A final ahead of the Hot Bodies Cyclone of Ben Cosgrove and the Associated TC5 of Olly Jefferies. The three leg finals saw some great racing, Chris took victory in the first two legs while Ben took leg three, Olly Jefferies was second in all three legs and this left the finishing positions as Chris the winner ahead of Olly and Matt White who had a great weekend with his Schumacher Mi4. In the Pro Stock class championship leader Jon Bowden took FTD, Jon only needed a top three result to secure his title and did it in style with his Hot Bodies Cyclone, Jon won all three legs of the Pro Stock A final to be crowned 2009 Pro Stock champion, behind Jon on the day were Lee Price for Schumacher and a stunning drive from one of the UK’s young up and coming stars Zak Smith who finished third for Associated.

Hupo wins Mod as CRC dominate 1/12th at IIC

Hupo takes Mod as CRC dominate 1/12th at IIC

More news from last weeks IIC which in 1:12th scale modified, saw Austrian racer Hupo Honigl take his CRC Gen-XL to a convincing win in the A-final. Hupo absolutely ran away with the win setting fast lap and running a string of laps that no other competitor could match. In fact, Hupo’s average top 20 fast laps were faster than any other driver’s single fastest lap. In the 17.5 turn 1:12th scale class Brian Wynn took his new Gen-XL to a T.Q. by almost 1 full lap and backed it up with the win . In the main, while Brian drove away from the field, a good battle ensued for second, which in the end went to CRC Michigan Mafia driver Jody Flipse. In the 13.5 turn 1/12th A-main, it was again a CRC sweep with D’Agnolo, Wynn, Calandra and Hönigl finishing 1-2-3-4. With Hupo’s 4th place finish, he won the “non-Advanced” speed control division.
