Arrowmax have released this optional lightweight clutch bell for the Mugen MRX-5. Made from CNC-machined premium Swiss 7075 T6 aluminium, it has been further hard coated for extra durability and long life.

Italian company World Racing Car have released their own series of pre mounted foam tires. Available for the 1/10th and 1/8th scale, the former are compatible with F1 chassis’ such as as the F104 and F103, while the 1/8th tires work with most available gas on road cars. Available in the usual range of shore hardness’.

Shepherd are pleased to announce the signing of this years Italian Vice-Champion Andrea Pirani for the upcoming season. With his experience and speed he is a great addition to their team of world class drivers and will help with testing and improving new and existing products. Andrea plans to attend a preparation race for the World Championship in January as well as the World Championship itself, the European Championship and of course the Italian National Championship races. He had the following to say:
I’m very happy to run with Team Shepherd for 2011. I’m ready to win some great races like the World and European Championships. I have already tested the Velox V8 and I felt very good with it since the first laps. The german quality of Shepherd is excellent. The indoor Nordic Championships was held this weekend at Spydeberg, 40 minutes from Norway’s capitol city Oslo, with some of the best of the Nordic drivers from Finland, Sweden and Norway in attendance. In Modified touring it was Xray driver Alexander Hagberg who had the best run and claimed the TQ spot ahead of local star Adrian Berntsen in 2nd and Michael Nilsson in 3rd. In 1/12 scale it was Vesa Yli who was fighting with Helge Johannessen for the TQ spot and after 5 qualifying heats it was Vesa who claimed the top spot in front of Helge Johannessen and Adrian Berntsen.

The option parts for the Mugen MRX-5 keep coming from Arrowmax with the release of this complete set of shock shafts. These shafts have been coated with titanium nitride for reduced friction and wear for a better performing shock absorber.

Last weekend saw the ROAR Nitro Sedan Region 12 Championship hosted by the Greater L.A. RC in the Artesia Transit Center. A very popular race, there were drivers from Las Vegas and Northern California in attendance. The track was on excellent conditions and the weather couldn’t be better in Southern California. The qualifiers on Saturday saw Kyosho Driver Walter Diaz set the overnight TQ, having some run time issues with 16 laps in 4:56, but in the final qualifier on Sunday it was a very close ending with Kyosho drivers Palazzola and Fisher having the exact same time and Diaz with a good pace, but once again was unable to finish due to run time issues. So the top 3 was Michael Palazzola who took the TQ honors, followed by Scott Fisher and Walter Diaz. The main was really close between these 3 drivers, Diaz took the lead in the first few laps and was followed closely by Palazzola, with Fisher running into some small problems that left him behind. Due to different pit strategies the lead of the race changed several times between Diaz and Palazzola, and it was with less than 1 minute to the end thay they were racing for the win. Unfortunately Palazzola had some problems when he tried to make a pass on a back marker that caused the end of his race with few laps to go. Walter Diaz could then cruise the last few laps to take the Victory ahead of Mugen driver Robbie Collins and Michael Palazzola in third to complete the podium.

Following on from the release of their original one-piece engine mount for the MRX-5, Arrowmax have released an update V2 version. Machined from a single piece of aluminum, this new version features two additional mounting points for more secure mounting of the engine to the chassis, with the back plate end of the mount also cosmetically altered.

The second round of the Ardent winter On Road series took place over the weekend, with the Schumacher team once again in attendance and looking for some good results. The series is run on the Sorex 28JB control tyres which can be run for many runs without deterioration in the performance which is excellent for the drivers and for sure adds to the popularity of the series. With a packed venue with 14 heats it shows what a good job John and his crew are doing in the area.
