Maxima B2X .21 nitro off-road engine – Teaser image

Maxima have released first teaser images of their forthcoming B2X .21 nitro off-road engine. No detailed information are available yet but it is understood that the engine is based on the O.S. Speed B2102 and therefore you can expect a square stroke engine with low-profile cooling head, DLC-coated crankshaft, 3-needle carburettor and more. We bring you more information on the power plant as soon as they surface.

Jon Hazlewood wins at Rhein Main Warm Up

Last weekend’s 11th Rhein Main Warm Up race not only saw the running of nitro and electric buggy classes but also nitro truggy racing. Agama’s Jon Hazlewood was in control of things all weekend, leading both the practice rounds and also qualifying to line up in P1 on the grid. The start of the main final went without problems for the pole-setter and ultimately Jon would bring home the win in front of TLR’s Andreas Bartels while old dude Abdullah Kilic (Agama) would secure himself the final spot on the podium.

Team Magic 1/10th truck on-road tyres

Team Magic have released a set of street style on-road tyre for 1/10th monster trucks such as the E5 and E5HX. Sporting a hard-wearing on-road tread the tyres are mounted on black 6-spoke rims and they come in sets of four. The pre-glued wheels are usable on Team Magic’s own E5-series trucks and also select other 1/10th vehicles.

Keller & Neumann win at Rhein Main Warm Up race

The 11th annual Rhein Main Warm Up race was held in Bischofsheim near Frankfurt, Germany this past weekend. Considered the unofficial season opener the race once again attracted both national and international drivers and in the 1/8th Nitro Buggy class it was Mugen’s Carsten Keller who walked away with the win after the 40-minutes main final from JQRacing’s Joseph Quagraine in 2nd and Serpent’s Jörn Neumann 3rd.

Green & Thurston win at BRCA 1/8th Track Nats Rd2

Round 2 of the BRCA 1/8th Track National Championship was held at the super fast Halifax track with the weather being dry and sunny for both Saturday’s practice and the race on Sunday. The entry was 36 nitro cars and 21 electric cars and by the end of the practice day Mark Green was the quickest with his XRD-powered Serpent in the nitro class while Alex Thurston with his Arrowmax-powered Serpent, was the quickest electric class driver. The two would also come out on top after Sunday’s qualifiers and they would again excel in the finals, with Mark Green taking the nitro win from Andrew Hastings (Shepard/O.S./Matrix) in 2nd and Richard Hicklin (Serpent/O.S./Contact) 3rd. In the electric class Alex Thurston was sidelined on the podium by Adam Catchpole (ARC) and Joe Hawnt (Serpent).

Sebastian Recio doubles at Argentinian On-road Champs

The 2017 Argentinian On-road Championships were recently held in Buenos Aires in several nitro on-road categories. In the premier 1/8th Free class Sebastian Recio took the title from Agustin Cutini in 2nd and Flavio Elias 3rd. In the 1/8th “3 Transfer” class, understood to be a stock engine category, it was Agusto Quinteros who came out fastest from Frank Delepiane on the runner-up spot while Martin Mazzeo rounded out the podium in 3rd. In 1/8th GT Sebastian Recio took his second title this weekend with Flavio Elias and Carlos Fernando Lima coming in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Finally in the 1/10th 200mm touring class Marcos Corbani came out fastest to grab the title from Enzo Branciforte and Lucas Lemes.

Mugen Seiki MTC1 electric touring car kit – Coming soon

Following a first teaser image Mugen Seiki have released more information on their forthcoming MTC1 1/10th 4WD electric touring car kit. The company’s first electric on-road kit was developed for more than a year and it features a class-standard dual belt drive train, an “intelligent” caster adjustment system, zero tweak flex system, adjustable body positioning, ultra low profile big bore shocks, front double joint drive shafts, hard coated aluminium rear drive shafts, low friction pulleys, ball raced sway bars, one piece motor mount, fully adjustable narrow steering system, aerodynamic front bumper, and a fully adjustable suspension in terms of camber, toe, caster, wheelbase, track width, roll centre, diff/spool height, and steering angle. No additional images are available yet but as the car looks pretty much production ready the official presentation shouldn’t be too far away.
