The Argos track in Greece played host to round 1 of the RCManiacs series. The Wednesday evening event attracted racers from Athens, Patra and Argos to compete on the new high-traction track and in the Touring Modified class it was Diamadis who took the TQ after a close fight with Kiriazis. All three finals were then won by Kiriazis with Diamadis coming in 2nd and Kidi 3rd, making it an Xray 1-2-3.
Coming from PR Racing and made for the S401-LW buggy is a new sway bar set. It includes four colour-coded 1.3mm to 1.6mm anti-roll bar wires as well as mounting hardware to make it a direct fit on the buggy and to ensure swift and easy chassis roll adjustment.

With this week’s ROAR 1/8th Gas Off-road National Championships at Stateline Raceway in Fremont, Indiana underway, Pro-Line have introduced a new 1/8th off-road tyre. The yet unnamed tread looks like a mishmash of the popular Blockade and Hole Shot tyres but it has different length blocks added in the centre as well as a connected outer section on one side, making it directional. The tyre is also available as truggy version at the nationals but no information about a release date has been given yet.
WRC have introduced a black anodised aluminium lower chassis for the STX 017 electric touring car kit. Machined from high-quality 7075-T6 aluminium and sporting several milled out sections for optimised flex, the chassis is also of a symmetrical design to ensure equal left-to-right flex characteristics. The main plate is a direct fit and best used in medium to high grip track conditions.

Coming from Team Corally are the new Molan SS 3.0 modified brushless motors. Their specially designed can offers optimised airflow for improved cooling and thus less power fading towards the end of a run while also ensuring a very low weight. The motors come with static and dynamic balanced rotors for extra performance, heavy duty solder tabs, dual sensor ports and they are available in 3.5T to 10.5T variants.
Coming from Arrowmax is the black and gold coloured V2 tool base. Machined from high-quality aluminium and coming in the company’s signature black and golden anodising, the tool base helps to organise and tidy the work space and pit area as it takes up to 24 different tools including several 22mm, 18mm and 14mm handle wrenches. New for the V2 version are also spaces for Arrowmax’ Multi Shock Clamp and the V2 line of turnbuckle wrenches.

Tamiya have released a teaser of their forthcoming TB Evo.7 electric touring car kit. With the TRF line of touring cars pretty much ditched, the Evo.7 is expected to be the company’s top-of-the-foodchain offering for the ultra-competitive class, although – historically – the shaft-driven Evo line never had that much of an impact within the racing scene as the TRF kits had. This may change with the 7th incarnation as racers can expect gizmos such as low profile shocks and shock towers, a possible drivetrain upgrade and more. The Midwest Nitro Cup, round 2 of the 48th annual Midwest Series was hosted by Team Nitro in Lynwood, Illinois. The event kicked off the weekend with open practice on Friday. Unlike round 1, the weather was working in everyone’s favour and was supposed to be dry and warm all weekend. Entries came in from as far away as Ontario Canada, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Texas. Following the Saturday morning practice session, round 1 of qualifying kicked off with Brian Jucha setting the early pace in 1/10th Sedan with Tom Esposito in P1 in Sedan Masters. Ralph Burch was quickest in 1/8th Open while Don Jones locked in the early TQ for 1/8th Open Masters. Rounds 2 and 3 were completed and the only change saw Lon Burling II taking the P1 position in 1/8th Open.
