Pro-Line have announced that their controversial new Bull Dog shell is now available for the Mugen MBX-6 and Losi 8ight. Featuring an advanced forward cab design, it generates unmatched off-power steering, while the exposed cylinder head stabilizes engine temps and the flattened rear deck feeds the wing with clean air flow. Made from durable / genuine .040 Lexan, the shell is supplied with decal sheet, window mask and paint-then-peel overspray film. These new shells join the previously available versions for the Hot Bodies D8 and Associated RC8.

Picco Boost .21 Competition buggy engine

Italian engine company Picco have released details on their new .21 competition buggy engine, the ‘Boost’. Optimised for improved fuel economy and drivability, this 3 port ABC engine, features a lightened crankshaft with silicon paste. Sporting an over-sized turbo head insert, the cooling head has been lightened through the use of holes in the fins to keep the centre of gravity as low as possible. The motor is supplied with a composite slide carburetor with 6 and 7mm venturis, and both the crankcase and cooling head sport update graphics.

MIP Blitz ball diff, C-CVD & hex adaptors

MIP have released a number of new option parts for the HPI Racing Blitz. First up is this ball differential kit, which replaces the stock gear diff with no modifications necessary. Made with a hardened high strength alloy, it has excellent wear resistance. MIP have also introduced their high strength hardened C-CVDs with new snap rings for even more confidence and reliability. Finally, MIP have released a hex adaptor kit, which allow the user to run 1/8th scale wheels on the Blitz. Made from 7075-T6 aluminium, it has been anodised for protection against oxidation. Kit comes with bearing journal spacers for front & rear.

As seen at the toy fair earlier in the year, Kyosho have now released full details on their new Ultima RB5 SP2. The SP2 Edition is the latest in the Ultima line of vehicles, which is a further development of the breed, and it includes all the enhancements that have been designed by Kyosho engineers and tested over the last couple of years by Kyosho International factory drivers like Jared Tebo and legends of the RC world. This biggest change to the RB5 SP2 was the fact that the motor has been shifted left to better improve the balance the car with all components now center and true.

Having brought you the first photos and information on the new B01 engine from TecnoPower, the Italian company has released further details about their new buggy motor. The engine features a chrome-plated 5-port liner with 5 intakes and 1 exhaust for high durability and long life, with the fully machined silicon charged aluminium piston sports specially designed lubrication rings for low friction properties between the piston and sleeve. The new developed slide valve carburetor and 7mm venturi allows quick and easy tuning to specific race conditions and to keep things as simple as possible for the user, this specific carburetor has only 3 possible adjustments, high speed-needle, idle-needle and air-screw. The SG, or now also called SPT, style 14mm crankshaft in the B01-21 is made from a special steel containing an unique composition that has been heat-treated, machined and finished to perfection and with no need for extra counter weights it’s also lighter. The special shape of the crankshaft, and specially developed internal diameter, provides a special flux for an optimum fuel-air mixture.

Billy Easton wins Florida State Series Rd6

Pro-line are reporting on last weekend’s 6th round of the Florida State Off-Road Nitro Series were they took the win in both pro classes. In 1:8th buggy, team drivers Billy Easton and Leon McIntosh had great showings in the highly contested Pro A-main. It was all Billy Easton dominating the race and taking the win with the Serpent S811 with a lap on the field using M2 Calibers with closed cell foam. Leon had a great battle for 2nd with Jason Rouna for the entire 30 minute main. In the end though, Jason took the runner up spot, while Leon crossed the line in 3rd opting to use the softer M3 Caliber tires with blue closed cell foam.

New Fuel & Engines from TQ

TQ Fuel have a number of new announcements, the first being the relaunch of their flagship product, a new blend of performance race fuel dubbed clear power. This will be the same fuel that was used to TQ the Worlds and has had much success in the US market. TQ is also ready to enter the highly contested motor market using the former GRP engine block. TQ expects the street price to be anywhere between $255 and $289, a great price for a proven winner and will also offer pipes and glow plugs. They will also be eventually offering a factory tuned version along with a combo package. Starting with the buggy engine first, it will be followed up with a truggy engine. Finally, they will be launching a new website along with a new service center based out of North Carolina for all warranty and tech support.

Team Tekin dominate April Fools Classic

Team Tekin dominate April Fools Classic

Team Tekin are reporting on the recently held 22nd annual April Fools Classic held at IRCR in Magna Utah. Team driver Tony Newland TQ’d and won the 13.5 SS truck class using the RS Pro and Tekin Redline 13.5 motor, while team manager Randy Pike also TQ’d 17.5 truck using the RS Pro and Redline 17.5 motor. Privateer driver and local Aaron TQ’d and won the Pro 4 SCT division running a Tekin RS Pro, followed in 2nd position by Tekin’s own Ty “Strapped up” Campbell. 17.5 2wd Buggy was also TQ’d and won by local Kyle Rieger using a Tekin RS, while Lloyd Dasonville also picked up a 3rd place in factory mod truck running a Tekn Rs Pro and 7.5 Redline motor in his new TQ Racing ride. And we can’t leave out the Tekin Prez aka Jim “Prez” Campbell picked up a 3rd place in the hotly contested masters truck class running a Tekin RS Pro and 13.5 Redline motor.
