JJ Wang wins Gold in Shanghai

Every 4 years, the Shanghai Municipal Government holds a citywide race with drivers around Shanghai competing to win medals for districts they represent. At this year’s race, held at the Shanghai International RC Speedway this past weekend, it was Mugen driver JJ Wang winning the gold medal with his Murnan powered MTX4 representing the Changning district. In the EP open class, Wang Hai Feng took gold with his HB TCX representing the Huangpu district and fellow district driver Salton Dong winning the Tamiya TT01 stock class. JJ Wang & Howard Zou win at King Power Cup

…makers of electric motors and batteries as well as other racing parts was the main sponsor for the race and racers from around China participated in the two day event with race organizer Energy-DL in Guangzhou managing the event superbly. In the EP Open class, JJ Wang took TQ and won the race with his HB TCX. In the GP touring class, Taiwanese Xray driver Howard Zou TQ’d and won the event edging out Shanghai Mugen driver JJ Wang in a heated battle that saw some very exciting qualifying strategies and racing displayed by both drivers. JJ Wang wins Guangzhou RCP Inaugural race

…with close to 100 drivers attending. The event held three race classes, 1/10 EP Touring, 1/10 GP, and 1/8 On-road. With drivers coming from all over China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan, it was one of the largest on-road races in China this year. Mugen driver JJ Wang, powered by Murnan Modified Novarossi, won the 1/8 on-road class, while Xray driver Samuel Chiu of Hong Kong won the 1/10 GP Touring class. Race Fuel was provided by Nitro X. Asia EP Buggy Championship China Rd2

…day’s 3 qualifiers and finals. The 4wd final was won by TQ John Ho, driving a Durango DEX410 ahead of Luo Yong Sheng in 2nd and Beckham in 3rd. Wang Hai Feng wins Hobbywing EP On Road Champs

Over 80 racers gathered in Shanghai, China this past weekend for the 3rd Annual Hobbywing EP On Road Championship. This race has become the biggest EP race in China and one that attracts top Chinese racers from all over the country. Four different classes were raced including F1, Sport, Stock and Open Class Modified. Swauger and Fukuda win in Shanghai

The 2nd annual TRS Asia Nitro Open Cup was held in Shanghai, China. Drivers from 10 countries/region including China, USA, Japan, Holland, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, Brunei and Korea competed at this winter event. After 5 rounds of qualifying, Mike Swauger from the USA was TQ in the 1/8 on road class, and Keisuke Fukuda from Japan was TQ in the touring class. Sunday’s “A” Main Final in the 1/8 on road class saw Swauger lead from start to finish winning the Championship, second place went to Jimmy Qian from Shanghai and 11 year old JJ Wang from Shanghai…

Tamiya Asia Cup 09 Finals

The Tamiya Asia Cup 09 Finals were held in Thailand last weekend, and it was a qualifying race for the Tamiya World Cup to be held in Shizuoka, Japan at a later date. In the GT 4wd World class, it was Chinese driver Wang Hai Feng that took the pole position and won the final race.
