Traxxas Bigfoot 1/10th 2WD RTR monster truck

Coming from Traxxas is the Bigfoot 1/10th scale 2WD ready-to-run monster truck. Named after the iconic Bigfoot full-scale monster truck the 1/10th scale variant captures the power and spirit of the original with its high ground clearance 2WD chassis, the officially licensed truck body – available in two colour variants – and authentic shaved monster truck tyres. The vehicle comes factory assembled and it features Traxxas’ proven Magnum 272 gearbox with slipper clutch, the suspension is equipped with oil-filled shock absorbers and the truck comes including a 12T 550-size brushed motor, the waterproof XL-5 speed controller and enclosed receiver compartment. Also included is the TQ 2.4GHz radio system, a Traxxas iD-equipped 7-cell NiMH battery pack and a 4-amp DC peak-detecting fast charger.

Italian company Fastrace have introduced a range of aluminium option parts for the Team Associated RC8B3 buggy. Available are a 6mm front and 4mm rear shock tower, an upper servo saver plate, a ball-raced centre differential plate for the nitro variant of the B3 as well as A, B, C and D suspension hangers. All parts are of a heavy-duty design for increased durability, they are machined from high-quality Ergal material and come with a hard-anodised surface for reduced wear and cool looks.

The small footprint DC charger measures only 137x60x28mm, it weights in at 210g and offers up to 7A charge and 1A discharge current for LiPo and LiHV battery packs. It is housed in a sturdy case with upper carbon fibre lid and its backlit display and easy-to-use joystick make for convenient menu operation. An included fan unit keeps the internal temperatures as bay and top mounted 4mm connectors help with neat wiring.

Fenix wide spur gears, titanium axle shafts & king pins

Fenix have introduce new wide spur gears for their formula gear differential, a titanium rear axle shaft as well as titanium kingpins for the Mistral kit. Starting with the spur gears, they are of a refined design with a wider gear portion to allow for easier axle shaft offset spacing while maintaining a proper main gear and pinion mesh. Properly used the gears last twice as long as the pinion gear can be run in an inner and outer position.

Gee, Isaacs & Fenimore win at ROAR Paved Nationals

This past weekend RC racers from around the USA and Canada converged at Valkaria RC to race against the best at the 2016 ROAR Asphalt Nationals. Practice began on Wednesday morning as drivers quickly became aware of the ever-changing track conditions and intricacies of the beautiful Valkaria RC layout. As practice continued through Thursday night, it was Mike Gee looking strong in 13.5 as well as Mod TC. Sam led the way as “practice TQ” in 17.5 TC, Johnee Fenimore appeared to have the 21.5 TC class locked down.

JConcepts XB2 pre-cut chassis protective sheet

The latest vehicle to receive JConcepts’ chassis protective sheet treatment is Xray’s XB2 buggy. The chassis wrap comes made from tough material and it sports flashy JC graphics while protecting the chassis bottom from becoming damaged or overly scratched when running on very abrasive surfaces. Coming in sets of two the stickers are pre-cut for a perfect fit and included is also a replacement rear skid decal.

Oliver Mack & Armin Weihert join Team Infinity

Oliver Mack & Armin Weihert join Infinity

Team Infinity have announced the addition of Germany’s Oliver Mack and Armin Weihert to their already star studded factory team. Oliver, who spent close to a decade with Shepherd, claimed his first EFRA European A title with the German team in 2015 is joined in the move by long time pitman Weihart who has worked at Shepherd for more than a decade. The pairing has already had a successful first outing with the car during last weekend’s Novarossi Trophy in Fiorano with the next big races being the German Nationals followed by the fourth and final round of the ENS held in Fiorano in October. Oliver has the following to say about the deal:

I want to thank Shepherd and the Schäfer family for the past 8 years that were crowned by the European Championship title in 2015. I am now looking forward to the new adventure with Infinity. My first outing with the new car was already pretty successful and I am very excited to run it at the German Nationals and the ENS in Italy.

Joao Figueiredo takes double Portuguese EP Buggy title

The final round of the Portuguese 1/10th Electric Buggy National Championship was held at the hard-packed and slippery Vilela track. Joao Figueiredo took the TQ in the 2WD class while the 4WD pole position went to Nuno Ribeiro. In the 2WD mains both Joao and Nuno fought it out until the last lap of the final A-main with Joao holding the upper hand over Nuno while Nuno Duraes completed the top 3 result. In the 4WD class it was again Joao Figueiredo who came out fastest in the A-mains, starting from the 2 spot on the grid. Nuno Ribeiro came in second, Luis Godihno completed the top 3 result. Overall in the championship Joao took the title in both classes from Nuno Ribeiro. Luis Godinho came in third in the 2WD class while Marco Timoteo completed the 4WD overall top 3.
