Tamiya F104 Pro Formula chassis

Tamiya F104 Pro Formula chassis

We showed you the images of the Tamiya F104 chassis just over a week ago and now Tamiya USA have released details of the car in English. The first edition of the F104 chassis kit will come in a Pro spec, using top-quality carbon fibre parts for a beautiful finish and light weight. The car features front & rear wings and an original body, which along with the tire size and body dimensions produce great scale realism. As was obvious in the first images of the car, the battery is longitudinally-mounted, allowing for a slim body design, while the 2WD direct drive system claims to offer excellent acceleration qualities and is very reliable. The front suspension features a link-type coil spring with the rear suspension having a friction plate and a T-bar set up with a TRF damper. A part of the new design is the aluminium diff housing which even if your wheels are removed the differential will hold together allowing easy maintenance. The height adjustable rear gear case has been designed to match the new tire dimensions and the isometric steering rod links up well with the longitudinally-mounted steering servo for excellent control.

BMI Racing Universal Arbor & Tuned piston kit

BMI Racing Universal Arbor & Tuned piston kit

BMI Racing have released a number of new items including their new universal arbor for all popular tire truers and their new tuned piston kit for the Silva Racing 1/12th shock. The universal arbor means you no longer need to buy multiple arbors and constantly change them back and forth when truing tires if you race different classes and includes everything you need to true tires for 1/12th, 1/10th Oval/World GT as well as touring cars. The tuned pistons for the Silva 1/12th shock is a good upgrade for any 1/12th scale car and feature a larger diameter for less blow by and have smaller oil holes. This allows you to use lighter oil and increase the oil flow velocity for more pack. This improvement affects a car in a multitude of ways giving smooth damping with bottoming resistance, fast weight transfer during sudden directions changes and slower weight transfer in sweepers, all out of one shock.

La Gara del Cuore - Announcement

Our friends in Italy sent us the announcement for a race that they are running in June, on the 6th – 7th, in aid of the victims of the recent Abruzzo earthquake. The race takes place in Gubbio and is open to both 1/8th scale and 1/10th scale gas classes and all proceeds from the event will go to the Italian Red Cross. Its for a good cause, so if you wish to test on the host track of this year’s European Championships for 1/10th 200mm and you missed out on last weekend’s GP then you may as well go and support a good cause while you are at it. Yannick Aigoin wins Euros Warmup

Yannick Aigoin wins Euros Warmup

The warm up for this year’s European buggy Championships took place last weekend in Oberwolbing in Austria under hot and dry conditions. The track presented to the drivers, which included some US drivers over for the race, was super fast with 2 straights and a tarmac banking, which constantly challenged the drivers. The A-main was super fast with current European Champion Renaud Savoya, Adam Drake and Yannick Aigoin fighting for the lead. Savoya and Aigoin were a little bit faster and fought for the whole race, but Yannick was able to make one less stop which gave the Losi driver the safety margin he needed to keep in front until the end of the race. Renaud Savoya took 2nd for Mugen ahead of British driver Neil Cragg in 3rd for Associated.
