JConcepts 2nd annual Outdoor Turf Nationals – Announcement

JConcepts, in conjunction with R/C Madness in Enfield, Connecticut, present the 2nd Annual Outdoor Turf Nationals from on the 10th and 11th of September. The dedicated AstroTurf surface created by Chris Marcy combines a large outdoor venue with the grippy green surface used at international events around the world including the 2015 IFMAR World Championships. A multitude of classes are offered for all skill levels and accomplishment. JConcepts control tires will be utilized in the 2WD and 4WD Buggy classes while stadium truck and SCT will allow open tires. Sign-up for the event is available here.

Nejc Mihelic takes Slovenian 1/8th On-road title

The Slovenian 1/8th Nitro On-road Championship was held at the Tolmin track last weekend. Perfect weather conditions made for some nice days of racing with the action having started already on Friday. The qualifiers were won by ARC’s Nejc Mihelic who had his ARC team mates Valentin Mis and Simon Stelcl in tow in second and third respectively. A huge amount of tyre wear and a power and fuel-hungry track made for many different pit strategies. Up front Nejc checked out early to take the win and the championship title but behind him the race was on for the runner-up spot between Valentin and Simon. Both opted not to change tyres and only an engine flame out of Valentin brought the decision between the two with Simon taking the second place and the vice championship while Valentin had to settle for third.

Team C GT8-series aluminium shock mounts

German Team C distributors Absima have introduce the new aluminium lower shock mounts for the GT8-range of 1/8th scale on-road cars. Machined from aluminium and coming orange anodised and including mounting hardware the parts make for an updated suspension geometry and they are usable on both the front and the rear of the car.

Shepherd black/grey hooded sweater

Shepherd have announced the release of their latest merchandise in the form of the black/grey hooded sweater. It is made from high quality 80 percent cotton and 20 percent polyester material and shows the new Shepherd “European and World Champions” print on the front side and the well known Shepherd logo on the back. Furthermore the new hoodie comes with a kangaroo pouch pocket with small hidden openings for earphone cords as well as hidden ear phone loops in the hood. Coming in sizes of XS to 3XL the new hoodies are available from now on.

Austrian Electric On-road Nationals Rd5 – Report

Round five of the Austrian Electric On-road Nationals was held in Laa an der Thaya and hosted by the Mod RaceLaa04 club. In the Touring Modified class Patrick Gollner took the TQ from team mate Manuel Gremlica and Dominic Vogl. The finals then were a pretty easy affair for the pole position holder and with flawless races he took the overall win in front of the fighting duo of Dominic and Manual. At the end Dominic would prevail to take the runner-up spot from Manuel.

T-Works B6-series titanium battery post with locknuts

Coming from T-Works and made for Team Associated’s sixth generation 1/10th off-road buggies are titanium battery mount posts. The parts offer a plain middle section for improved battery brace fitment and they are also 2.5mm longer than the standard parts, allowing for easy mounting of the battery hold down. The precisely machined hex section makes for effortless height adjustments and the parts come in sets of two, usable on both the B6 and B6D.

MIP TLR 22 3.0 Roller Pucks bi-metal drive system

MIP’s popular Roller Pucks bi-metal drive system is now also available for the TLR 22 3.0 buggy. The design with alloy diff ring discs and steal outdrives makes for a 25 percent weight reduction compared to the stock parts, without compromising strength and durability, making the set ideal for modified racers who wish to save on rotational mass. Sweep Defender-T 1/8th truggy tyre

Sweep have introduced their new Defender-T tyre for 1/8th scale truggies. Based off of the Defender buggy tyre the truggy-specific variant builds on the new V2 carcass with a reduced width and rounder shape, providing a more constant driving feeling on bumpy tracks while also creating more forward drive. The square-type tread along with refined pin spacing will create tons of side-bite and the tyre is available soon in YX, SX, BX, RX, and WX long-wear compounds.
