Team Azarashi Womoog B-Max4 shell

Team Azarashi, the off road body specialists have shown photos of their Womoog prototype shell for the European and Japanese Championship winning Yokomo B-Max4 EP buggy. The body offers high levels of stability and a cool new look and the photos here show the almost final version, with only small modifications needing to be made before the body’s release in the near future.

Lowe & Sleigh win Batley Supercup

oOple are reporting that last weekend saw the return of the Annual ‘Batley Supercup’ held at the indoor Batley venue. Racing got underway around 9am after an early start to practice. Richard Lowe dominated 4WD and Truck classes – winning all qualifiers and both finals. Richard couldn’t seem to get it together in 2WD however and after an early challenge by Steve Lawson, it was Mid West driver Phil Sleigh who dominated the last three rounds of qualifying – going on to win the final in style.

ROAR 1/10 Scale Short Course Truck (SCT) class

ROAR add 1/10 Scale Short Course Truck (SCT) class

ROAR, the official USA and Canadian sanctioning body for R/C Car and Truck Competition, announced the formation of 1/10 Scale Electric Short Course Truck (SCT) construction specifications to its Racing Membership and Manufacturer Affiliate Partners. The 1/10 SCT Specifications, will be the 2009 SCT Provisional Class guidelines for Chassis, Wheel, Tire, Body Designers to construct vehicles, components, and accessories to compete in ROAR sanctioned events. ROAR will add Short Course Truck as a Demonstration Class at the 2009 ROAR Electric Off-Road National Championship, hosted by Hobbyplex Raceway in Omaha, Nebraska on June 25-28, 2009.

Lin Lehua & Ye Xiaqing win FeiTeng Rd2

Lin Lehua & Ye Xiaqing win FeiTeng Rd2

The 2nd round of the FeiTeng series took place in China last weekend and attracted 60 drivers from all over the country. Following qualifying it was one man who topped the time sheets in both the buggy and truggy class, HongNor driver Lin Lehua. In the truggy final Lin was able to carry forward his pace from qualifying and take the win ahead of Hu Weiping in 2nd and Rex in 3rd. In the buggy things didnt go as well for the pole man and he finished down in 6th, with another HongNor driver Ye Xiaqing taking the win from his team mates Cheng Yikuan and Zhang Hongyi.

New from Diggity Designs for the Team Associated B44 are a range of ‘Super Flexy’ carbon parts. Featuring a different design to the stock items, they allow for more twist to help create more traction on low bite, rough, bumpy and rutted tracks. There are 3 different parts available, a centre brace, a front upper deck and a rear upper deck, and they have been made from 2.5mm thick carbon fibre and are each sold separately.

Yokomo sign World Champion Hayato Matsuzaki

Yokomo have announced the signing of current IFMAR 2wd buggy World Champion Hayato Matsuzaki. The former Hot Bodies racer joins IFMAR 1/12th scale World Champion and current double JMRCA National buggy Champion Naoto Matsukura as well as former European Champion Joern Neumann to create the company’s dream junior team. Fourteen time World Champion Masami Hirosaka, who has announced his retirement from competition, will oversee operations for Yokomo and has put together the current team in preparation for this years World Championships that take place in South Africa. The first race for the team is this weekend’s Cactus Classic in the USA.

Adam Drake wins Silver State warmup

Last weekend was the final test at the Boulder City track to get ready for the Silver State Nitro Challenge the first week of April. Drivers from Losi, AE, Tamiya, Mugen, Kyosho, and O’Donnell were in attendance to do some final testing. The conditions were very dusty and bumpy and at the end of qualifying it was Losi / GRP’s Adam Drake on top of both the 1/8th buggy and 1/8th truck class. The conditions in the mains were even rougher and the weather was getting cold, but Adam Drake was able to come out on top again in both 1/8th buggy and 1/8th truck, in the latter Adam won the final by more then 1 lap.
