North German EP Off-Road Regional Rd1

The season opener of the Northern German electric off-road regional races took place at the MAC Burgdorf near Hannover. The semi-permanent grass track was once again very well prepared for the near 40 attendees. The weather was fine all weekend but just in time for the finals on Sunday afternoon everything changed to the worst and heavy thunderstorms caused an early end after the first round of finals. Only the 4WD Modified and 2WD Stock class were able to run a second round, the remainder of the finals were swapped away by heavy rain.Young René Sagawe (AE) dominated the 2WD Stock finals followed by Sven Jacobi (AE) and Pascal Sturm (AE) who came in third. 4WD Stock was won by Eberhard Beck (Team Durango) in front of Tom Bujara and Ursus Lieder (Yokomo). 2WD Modified was dominated by Mirco Johne (X Factory) who won over Marcel Felzmann (LOSI) and Red RC’s Sebastian Sürstedt (X Factory).

X Factory Transmission Shims get upgrade

X Factory Transmission Shims get upgrade

X-Factory have announced new shims for the height-adjustable transmission in the X-6 Squared, X-60, and original X-6, which claim to be a big improvement over the original versions. These new shims are made of aluminium and so are lighter than the original steel version, they have also been anodized and have four different colours for easier identification. Chazz Sinclair, company president, said, “We’re able to hold better tolerances with the aluminium, especially in the smallest size, .030″. We continue to have the only height-adjustable transmission on the market, and the difference just .030″ makes in side bite & forward bite is incredible. The cool thing is that we’ve been able to lower the price by about 1/3 for lighter, better shims.” The new shims have been in all X-6 Squared Kits shipped since April 24 and will be in the X-60 by mid-May. All original #5700 shims are gone, so all #5700s shipped from now on will be the new parts.

JConcepts Rage Race report

Fun and spirited competition at the JConcepts Rage as the JConcepts crew took a trip north to the beautiful state of North Carolina for the 1st Annual JConcepts Rage, with Jason Ruona and Rob Meyer taking home the wins in the modified classes. The big news at the JConcepts Rage was the spectacular Carolina’s R/C indoor track and racing surface. JConcepts Events race director Fred Reep put on a flawless high energy program with 5 rounds of qualifying and triple A-mains in the modified classes and 10 minute A-mains in all other classes. Several local drivers put on great driving performances while TQ’ing and winning many classes. Jason Ruona, Rob Meyer, Max Fluer, Jon Noon and Zach Mote continually turned the quickest lap times and qualifying runs in the modified classes. Jason Ruona with his JConcepts outfitted Associated B4 and B44 rained supreme in qualifying by TQ’ing 7 out of the 10 rounds of qualifying and winning the first 2 A-mains in both classes. Rob Meyer with his JConcepts outfitted Associated T4 TQ’ed and won the 10 minute A-main event in the modified truck class. Carolina R/C’s own Alex Birmingham won the Stock Truck class while Steve Woody won the Short Course Stock class and Todd Walters won the Short Course Modified class. Brandon Ouellette took his freshly prepared Losi 8ight-e to a well deserved 1st place in the electric 1/8th buggy class.

King & Cavalieri clean up at JBRL Rd1

Team Orion team mates Cody King and Ryan Cavalieri cleaned up at the opening round of the JBRL series this past Sunday. Cavalieri saw some issues in qualifying, but sorted it out and bumped all the way from the bottom main to win truggy from King in 2nd and Pavidis in 3rd. King took the exact opposite route, TQ’ing both classes and capturing the buggy crown from team mate Cavalieri, with Ryan Lutz taking 3rd. With 340 entries for a one day event, it was a miracle they finished before midnight.
