JConcepts D8 & MP9 Illuzion shells

JConcepts have released 2 new buggy shells for the World Championship winning Hot Bodies D8 and the Kyosho Inferno MP9. The Illuzion Hi-Flow body has turned radical, presenting a smooth yet detailed design while incorporating many of the features from the original Hi-Flow body. Special consideration has been made for the MP9 considering the air filter, side guards, battery box and extra clearance around the throttle and brake linkage. In addition, JConcepts has taken the frustration out of the stock body design and has detached the front nose piece for extra durability and functionality, which is now bolted to the front shock tower utilizing an existing non structural 3rd screw. Race inspired aggressive styling, Illuzionized cab and durable design are just some of the features that make these new Illuzion bodies stand out.

Team Orion CRF 21 US Spec engine

Team Orion have officially announced the CRF 21 US Spec buggy engine, which is the result of intensive testing with the collaboration of team drivers Ryan Cavalieri, Jorn Neumann and Philipp Guschl. With the introduction of new types of cars with lighter components, it appeared that the existing CRF engine was too powerful, so they created a new specification engine. This new motor keeps the incredible torque but delivers the power in a smoother way as requested by the team, while at the same time getting better mileage efficiency.

Florida State Series Rd2 report

The JConcepts FSORS rolled into its second round at the East Coast RC Club after a massive first race with over 190 entries. The weather was in the 70s during the day and cooled off at night, but there wasn’t a cloud in the sky so the track saw plenty of sun. The Daytona crew provided a difficult layout with an abrasive surface which quickly grooved as cars hit the track. Saturday’s qualifying first round had former World Champion Billy Easton taking the top spot with a decent but beatable run. As the day progressed the track got faster and faster and by the second round the track was primed for a new TQ. Local young gun JP Tirronen posted the quick time until the last heat where JConcepts new signing JR Mitch threw down. JR used Cross Hairs to put a in a blistering 13 lap run taking the over all TQ. JR completed the sweep of qualifying by TQ’ing both rounds of 1/8th truck on the new Half-Ups Cross Hairs.
