BMT 984 low-friction pulley set & long ball cups

Italian company BMT have new optional parts for the 984 1/8th on-road car available. First up is a low-friction belt pulley set that uses a newly formulated composite material which creates a super-smooth surface for a more efficient drivetrain and overall upped performance. As the material is softer than the standard parts the wear rate is slightly higher. Included in the set are all drivetrain pulleys including the front spool and rear axle parts. Also new for the 984 is a set of extra long ball cups that come in handy when building longer rear shocks which can be helpful in certain track conditions.

Serpent Spyder SDX4 1/10th 4WD buggy kit

Coming soon from Serpent is the SDX4 1/10th 4WD buggy kit. The buggy was pretty successful already in prototype stages with Jörn Neumann having taken the 2016 EFRA European 4WD Buggy title. The vehicle is based on a hard-anodised aluminium chassis that allows for a variety of different motor and battery layouts while its simple design and shaft drivetrain make maintenance and setup easy. After removing a handful of transmission parts the car can also be run as a 2WD which can be a hot ticket for very high-bite tracks.

LRP FlowX competition brushless speed controller

LRP have officially announced their long-awaited new competition brushless speed controller, the FlowX. Follow-up model to the popular Flow, the all-new ESC (that we exclusively featured back in September) sports an all-aluminium case that comes in a new dark-blue anodising. The power wires are now of an all-black colour as are the flat receiver and switch wires all of which makes for a cool factory team appearance. Also new is the flat power capacitor board that makes for easier mounting. Inside the case the ESC houses new high-end FETs exclusively customised for LRP and a redesigned heavy duty power board with both features allowing for up to 220A constant current. Furthermore the controller features the new V4.1 firmware for easy on-board programming and a heavy-duty standard voltage 6V/6A BEC system. Included with the speedo comes an optional fan unit as well as two sets of alloy screws for standard as well as thicker heavy duty fans. The speed controller is set for a release at the beginning of January.

Motor King wins at Muchmore Touring Series Rd5

The recent fifth round of the Muchmore Touring Series was held in Shanghai, China. In the premier Touring Modified class drivers had to fight with low grip conditions thanks to low temperatures with Motor King taking the TQ from John Lu and Nicholas in third. The opening A-main saw the top 3 finishing in starting order while A2 was more interesting as Lori B, coming from the 4 spot on the grid, was able to put some serious pressure on Nicholas. This allowed Motor King and John Lu to pull away until Lori clipped a curb, allowing Nicholas some room to breathe and to focus on chasing the top 2 drivers. Later John would also clip a curb which promoted Nicholas into the second spot. In the final stages Nicholas ran into trouble with a backmarker and he had to make way for John again meaning the top 3 would again finish in starting order. With the overall win already secured by Motor King the race was now on for the runner-up spot.

Muchmore LCG 4mm Euro connectors

Muchmore have introduced the LCG 4mm Euro connectors. The bullet-type plugs are of a special low-profile design to better comply with 23mm LCG battery packs. The connectors are usable with all battery packs outfitted with 4mm tube-type connectors and they come in sets of two.
