There was a big interest for the race since racing with hand-out motors is something stock drivers really like, so all the places at the tables were full. The XRS motors and Hudy tires performed flawlessly during Saturday’s practice and Sunday’s race. Saturday it was a practice day where most of drivers could get in touch for the first time with the XRS motors and Hudy tires. In the evening there was the Xray evening party and later the workshop, where Xray Factory team driver Tom Krägefski and Alojzij Osvald with more Xray/TopRC team drivers discussed regarding set-ups for the race.

Pro-Line Transistor front and Electron rear in X2 compound

Pro-Line have introduced a number of new additions to existing ranges of tires for 1/10th scale, the first being the Transistor 2.2” 2wd front in Pro-Line’s long wear X2 (medium) compound. The Transistor tread is the new kid on the block with 1’s and 0’s for tread which provides good, consistent steering and is ideal for outdoor blue groove conditions. The Electron 2.2” rear gets the same treatment with it too available in the long wear X2 compound. The Electron features connected tire tread technology to improve traction and wear on even the most abrasive of outdoor track conditions. The square center pins laid out between the connected tread provide consistent forward and side bite even when the track gets dusty.

Yokomo YZ-4 double joint universal shafts

Yokomo has released these new front double joint universal shafts for their YZ-4 buggy. Aimed at use on high grip surfaces that require more steering, higher acceleration and harder braking they are supplied with special bearings, which replace the current inner bearing in the steering block. The new shafts help reduce the friction loss while steering and allow for smoother cornering which in turn reduces lap times.
