Serpent SRX8 alloy chassis braces & TiNi shock shafts

Serpent SRX8 alloy chassis braces & TiNi shock shafts

Coming from Serpent and made for the SRX8 1/8th off-road buggy are new front and rear aluminium chassis braces and titanium-nitride coated shock shafts. Starting with the chassis stiffeners, the parts are machined from 7075-T6 material and they come grey anodised to match the remainder of the car’s option parts. A replacement for the standard composite parts the alloy braces reduce the chassis’ flex which can be beneficial in certain track conditions. Heavy machining keeps the weight gain at a minimum without sacrificing strength. The braces are available separately for the front and rear.

Rinderknecht & Vanderbeek sweep Summer Series Rd3

Rinderknecht & Vanderbeek sweep Summer Series Rd3

Round three of the Team Associated Summer Series at the Plex in Omaha, Nebraska, opened with some deja vu. Much like round two, 170 racers from Kansas, Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Minnesota were on hand to battle it out for the top steps of the podium and a chance to advance in the points standings. Alex Vanderbeek and Tom Rinderknecht once again took victories in all three of the premier Modified classes. Tom started from pole position in Mod 4WD, and took a big win over the field. Alex Vanderbeek got the TQ in both Mod Buggy and Mod Truck, earning that valuable extra TQ point. He went on to take convincing wire-to-wire wins in both classes.

Protoform Body Support Foam set

Protoform Body Support Foam set

Coming from Protoform and made for most touring car bodyshells is the new Body Support Foam set. Designed to eliminate the gap and play between the car’s foam bumper and the inside of the body the blocks and strips keep the front of the body supported for both increasing durability and keeping the aerodynamic integrity of the body intact. Each set comes with four blocks and four strips with super-sticky adhesive backs. The blocks are 9mm thick and are a quick solution to pad bodies in extremely forward mounting positions, as seen in 1/10th touring cars, and also works great with bodies that have a long front overhang. The 2mm thick strips can be used to fine tune this gap in smaller increments and can be cut and stacked on one another. The foams can be added both to the foam bumper or to the bodyshell.

Reedy HV digital low-profile servos

Reedy HV digital low-profile servos

Reedy have introduced two new high-voltage digital low-profile servos. Developed with both touring cars and 1/10th buggy racing in mind, the RS0806 LP (0.06s/8.3kg-cm) and RT1408 LP (0.08s/14.3kg-cm) offer precision metal gears, powerful motors and aluminium middle cases for fade-free performance. High-voltage compatibility means that increased ESC BEC output voltage can be used without fear of damaging sensitive internal components. Both servos also offer a stealthy black appearance with black receiver leads and they make use of standard 25T spline servo arms.
