René Kölbel joins Xray Factory team

Xray have announce that top Austrian on-road racer René Kölbel has joined their factory team. René will be driving the X1 and T4 on-road platforms at major international races including ETS. A front runner and race winner at the popular Mibosport Cup, he had the following to say:

I would like to thank Xray for the given trust in me. I drive the T4 and I’m excited about the quality and functionality of Xray RC cars, therefore it was clear for me to join the Xray team in the formula class as well. Xray X1 is a very good car with a lot of potential. During the season I will participate at all major races including ETS, and of course, the National series as well. I will be available at the Austrian races to help to any Xray drivers, so do not hesitate to contact me with your questions.

Xray T4 aluminium fan mount

New from Xray for the T4 comes this super smart fan mount designed specifically for the T4 platform. Able to accommodate popular fan sizes including 30mm and 40mm fans, the fan mount is installed on the bulkhead rather than the chassis to eliminate any tweak and to ensure no vibrations are transferred to the chassis.

Jack Embling joins Team Losi Racing

Jack Embling joins TLR

TLR UK and Horizon Hobby UK have announced the signing of former Kyosho racer Jack Embling to their team for 2017. Jack heads up the TLR UK team’s 2017 campaign as reigning national Truggy champion, podium finisher in E-Buggy and Top 4 in Rally cross, which bodes well for a strong upcoming season with TLR UK both nationally and internationally. He joins as part of a continued effort from TLR UK to focus on 1/8th rally cross and 1/10th off-road racing in the coming year alongside the growth of its large scale team with the introduction of the 5B. The 1/8th team will again be supported by 1/8th Team Manager Karl Jackson and TLR Trackside Support Wayne Davis both of who’s efforts where key in 2016, alongside the continued overall trackside support of 1/10th team manger Christopher Delves. Jack had the following to say about his new deal:

I’m extremely excited to announce that I’m joining the TLR / Horizon Hobby team for 2016 and onwards. I would like to thank Mark, Garry and Karl at Horizon for bringing me on board with this fantastic opportunity. I can’t wait to start racing with my new cars and challenging for some big race wins next year.

Juan Carlos Canas joins Fastrace

As the headline and story image state, Fastrace have announced that front running Spaniard Juan Carlos Canas has joined their team. The 5th placed finisher at this year’s European Championship, in his home country Spain, he will use the full line up of aftermarket option parts from the Italian company for 2017 and beyond.

The latest entry into the world of GT12 racing comes the Venom GT12 from Mardave. Featuring a new carbon fibre layered chassis for ultra fast performance, a newly designed rear pod and front end it comes supplied with JFT S foam as standard. Developed with input from Mardave’s team drivers, the Venom GT12 includes all the adjustments and features that you need to be at the front such as a new ball differential with 3 screw wheel fixing along with a carbon axle, separate springs for independent roll and bump stiffness adjustment, balanced rear pod and new lower motor position.

Xray XB4 2017 – Coming soon

Xray have released a first teaser for their forthcoming XB4 2017 4wd Buggy. No details are available yet but expect photos and information on the successor to the 2015/16 Euro Offroad Series winning buggy to surface shortly.

SARDA Onroad Gas Nationals - Report

RC Zone in Middelburg, Mpumalanga played a host to the 4th and final round of the SARDA Onroad Gas National Championship. It was always going to be an exciting weekend with some of the championship podium positions still up for grabs, and the imminent threat of rain throughout the weekend. Also, the participation and technical support of Xray Factory driver, Tom Kraegefski, sparked a lot of interest.
