Malisovas wins Greek Gas Open Rd2

Malisovas wins Greek Gas Open Rd2

Xray are reporting on their site from the 2nd round of the Greek Gas Open Series run last weekend at the Fanatix Racing Track. The event attracted 34 drivers and in qualifying it was Malisovis that took the pole position from Louis in 2nd spot, Fokianos in 3rd and 11 year old Kastorinis in 4th, in his third ever race.

The really big 45min final was very fast from the beggining with 2 drivers on the same lap for more than 30min. A small mistake from Louis after lapping slower drivers gave space to Malisovas to drive to an easy win.

Dankel & Myrberg win Rd6 in Southern Germany

Dankel & Myberg win Rd6 in Southern Germany

Last weekend at the MSC Asbach saw the 6th round of southern German regionals run for both 1/8th scale and 1/10th scale. Saturdays free practice was rained off for most of the day until 3 o clock when the track was dry enough for 2 practice sessions followed by 2 qualifying sessions before the final 3 qualifying sessions on the Sunday. After the qualification was over it was Mugen racer Erik Dankel that was quickest in the 1/8th scale, while the 1/10th scale TQ went to Andreas Myrberg, driving the Xray NT1. The 1/8th scale final sawa dominate performance by Dankel, who had a 14 lap lead after 20 minutes but in his 2nd to last pitstop the clutch seized meaning that the car could not stop without the engine stopping. While this caused some problems for his last pitstop, his team managed and he took the win ahead of Heiner Martin in 2nd and Christian Schmidkronz in 3rd. In the 1/10th scale final it was a win for pole man Andreas Myrberg, who lead the whole race while those behind ran into problems, allowing Reto Konig up into 2nd with Felix Bischoff in 3rd.

Protoform Frizzbee 1/8th scale body

Beating the expected official announcement from Protoform by 10 days or so, RC Tech user, ElliotCanada has a photo of their new 1/8th scale Can Am body, called the Frizbee (not sure if thats the final name or not?). Taken at the recent Canadian Nationals in Hamilton Ontario, the new body is the American companies 2nd new release for this category in 3 months, with the release of the Shadow back in mid May. The body itself sports a number of unique elements such as the lowered center of the rear wing and the use of dimples on the front corners, something similar to what first appeared on the Central body at the end of last year. We will bring you the official word when it is hopefully released later this month.

Dirk Wischnewki wins Rd6 Central German Regionals

Wischnewki wins Rd6 Central German regionals

Xray are reporting on their site from the 6th and final central German Regional race held in Ettlingen which attracted a number of top drivers including Martin Hudy, who came from Slovakia for the race. Qualifiying saw Xray NT1 driver Dirk Wischnewki take the TQ, after setting a fast time on a slowing track, to place ahead of 2nd qualifer Stefan Hannauer, racing a Kyosho, who had set his fastest time in the first round when the track was quicker. The 3rd spot went to Martin Hudy, driving the NT1, who despite being quick on Saturdays practice couldnt get the same power from his engine on the Sunday, and combined with some bad luck in his heats, could only place 3rd. Before the finals the rain started and the drivers elected to not race and so the qualifying results were the final results which gave Wischnewki the win from Hannauer in 2nd and Hudy in 3rd.
