Schumacher Mi3 new parts

Schumacher Mi3 new parts

Schumacher have today released some new parts for their latest 190mm Touring car, the Mi3. First up we have some new lower wishbones that are now available in 2 extra versions, making it 3 in total, and are an alternative to the ultra stiff versions that come with the kit and are mostly suitable for carpet racing. The new wishbones come in medium stiffness and soft, and are deisgned for lower grip conditions and because they are less brittle they are suitable for racers that tend to crash more. Also new from Schumacher for the Mi3 are 2 new spur gears, 70T 48 pitch and 96T 64 pitch, that have been created to suit the smaller gear ratios being currently used with low wind brushless stock motors.

Manuel Huber wins Austrian Champs Rd4

Manuel Huber wins Austrian Champs Rd4

Xray have a report from their team driver Manuel Huber on the recently held 4th round of the Austrian 1/10th 200mm Nationals. Qualifying saw Huber claim the TQ but with Austrian rules all drivers must race a Semi final and in this race Huber was once again quickest, winning the semi and taking the pole position for the main final. At the start of the final Manuel made a good start, but a split second loss of concentration sent him off the track and back to the back of the field, which allowed Serpent racer Daniel Tomaschko into the lead. A mistake just after 5 minutes forced Tomaschko out of the race and allowed a fast recovering Huber into the lead where he was unchallenged for the remainder of the race and could take the win by 2 laps ahead of Xray team mate Manuel Singer in 2nd and Mugen driver Michael Klausner in 3rd.

Xray T2008 EP Touring car

Xray T2008 EP Touring car

More from Xray who have confirmed the impending release of their newest chassis, the T2008, which was seen and used at the Euros in France 2 weeks ago. No official information was given by Xray on the new car, but spy shots taken in Montbrison and talk from people who have seen it confirm that it is quite different from the T2007. The car will now sport the front and rear belts on opposite sides of the centre spur gear, as opposed to both on one side, which allows the motor to be moved more to the center of the chassis. The chassis will also be different with a new top deck and other changes, all of which of course will be confirmed in time.

The 5th round of the 1/8th scale Dutch Nationals was run at the weekend on the MACH circuit in Heemstede, near Amsterdam. Qualifying saw Belgian Kyosho racer Ilia van Gastel take the pole position ahead of Serpent racer John Ermen in 2nd and Mugen factory racer Rick V. in 3rd. Just before the main final it started to rain and with little time to prepare before the race started, a lot of drivers were not prepared and some didn’t race. As the race started a number of drivers were out almost straight away including Ermen, but Rick V had no troubles and was able to work his way out to the front where he stayed for the entire race, taking the win and finishing ahead of Motonica driver Daniel Van der Drift in 2nd with Serpent driver Stanley Bauer in 3rd.

D’hondt wins Belgian 1/8th Nats Rd5

The weekend just gone saw the 5th round of the Belgian 1/8th scale National Championships held at the brand new Charlerloi track. In qualifying it was Serpent racer and winner of rounds 1 and 4, Robin D’hondt that took the pole position ahead of his team mate and round 3 winner Steven Cuypers in 2nd. In the warmup for the final Steven stripped his front belt and with little time to fix it, decided to start the final with 2wd, which proved difficult to drive and he retired shortly after. Pole man D’hondt got a good start and despite some small clutch problems he was able to take the win by 6 laps ahead of 2nd placed Michel Bourgeois with 3rd spot going to Gunther Van Staey.
