Final practice sees big improvement for Rheinard

There was a big improvement from Marc Rheinard in the final practice at ETS Luxembourg with the Tamiya driver improving from 10th the 2nd fastest as many drivers failed to better their opening timed practice times. Fastest for the second round, Rheinard got to within 4/10ths of Bruno Coelho’s earlier time, the Xray driver remaining the top seed for qualifying which gets underway this evening. With Rheinard demoting Jilles Groskamp who failed to better his time back to third, the third of the title contenders Ronald Volker would find himself demoted to P6 as his Yokomo team-mate Hayato Matsuzaki managed to get three laps together to go fourth fastest ahead of Lucas Urbain.

Capricorn LAB C802 Xlight 2-speed gearbox

Coming from Capricorn and made for the LAB C802 1/8th on-road car is the XLight 2-speed gear box. A lighter flywheel and overall lower weight make for improved acceleration and top speed compared to the standard assembly thanks to reduced rotation masses. The gearbox is a direct replacement for the stock parts and available soon.

RS5 XF large scale formula kit

RS5 have release first renderings of their forthcoming XF large scale formula car. Designed for full compatibility with both Zenoah and Beast engines, the car furthermore features a monoshock front suspension for better accessibility, a monoblock front suspension rocker holder for maximum stiffness as well as a ball-centring servo saver, fully adjustable suspension including castor and also an easy diff change system using four screws. The kit also comes with steel or brass-steel balljoints for the A-arms and an all-in-one radio plate that houses the servos and receiver box for easy setup, cleaning and maintenance.

Coelho leads way in 1st timed practice at ENS Luxembourg

Bruno Coelho has set the pace in the first of the two timed practices at the penultimate round of the Yokomo Euro Touring Series in Luxembourg. Last year’s race winner posted the fastest 3-laps ahead of Jilles Groskamp stretching his advantage over the Dutch driver, the pair more evenly match in the morning’s untimed practice. Behind them it was local hero Lucas Urbain who would complete the Top 3 with a time 1/1000th of a second faster than defending champion Ronald Volker. A crucial weekend in the three way title battle, it wasn’t a great start to the weekend for Marc Rheinard as he found himself only 10th fastest over 1.4-seconds off points leader Coelho.

Fernando Almeida crowned 40+ Buggy Euro Champ B

The EFRA 1/8th Nitro Buggy European Championships B was recently held in Freixedas, Portugal, with about 107 drivers in attendance. While young Juan Carlos Canas grabbed the title, it was Fernando Almeida who took the 40+ class in dominant fashion, leaving Helder Barros and Frederick Cederberg behind in second and third respectively.

Yokomo BD7-2016 Japan Edition asphalt spec kit

Yokomo have introduced the BD7-2016 Japan Edition kit that is specially aimed at asphalt racing. The limited edition is based off of the standard 2016 but it features some asphalt-specific option parts such as aluminium steering limiter screws, a front belt tensioner set, 43.5mm FR aluminium suspension mounts, SLF short II shock diaphragms, pink SLF short II springs, a titanium turnbuckle set as well as aluminium steering bellcranks and the 44mm C-clip rear universal shafts. Also included is a dedicated asphalt spec carbon fibre chassis. The Japan Edition kit will be in use by the Yokomo factory team at the forthcoming JMRCA nationals in July.

Helder Silva successful at Portuguese TC Nats Rd4

Round four of the Portuguese Touring Stock 10.5T National Championship was recently held in the city of Coimbra. After winning three of the four qualifying rounds, Fred Santos (Xray) would take the pole position for the triple A-mains. A1 then had Capricorn’s Helder Silva coming out fastest after a last lap crash with a spinning car causing trouble for Fred. In A2 and after some position swaps with Fred, it was again Helder who came out in front to take the day’s win early. In the third and final A-main again bad luck stroke for Fred who was still able to take the overall runner-up spot behind Helder. Schumacher driver Jorge Chalupa completed the top 3 result.

Rigert & Asendorf win at Swiss EP On-road Nats Rd3

The famous Lostallo track played host to round three of the Swiss electric on-road nationals. As usual with the current European Summer, parts of the race were held in wet conditions. After a partly rain soaked qualifying, Michele Manzo would place his car on the 1 spot in the Touring Modified class, from Huber, Isler, Rigert and Krähemann. At the end Mario Rigert (Xray) would take the overall win after coming out fastest in A1 and A3. Oliver Krähemann (Xray) grabbed the runner-up spot while Philipp Huber (Team Durango) had to settle for third.
