Marco Kaufmann wins at Pegasus Masters

Marco Kaufmann wins at Pegasus Masters

The Pegasus Masters was held in Piding, Germany with 96 entries in four electric on-road classes. The track was made using the famous ETS carpet and the control tyre for the Touring classes was the Volante indoor tyre. In the Touring Modified class Marco Kaufmann (Xray) would dominate right from the start by coming out fastest after the practice and scoring round TQs in the first three qualifiers on Saturday. Despite posting the only 24 laps run the whole weekend Marco struggled on Sunday when Q4 and Q5 went to Xray teammate Tim Wahl. In the finals the fight was then on between Marco and Tim with the latter taking the win in the opening main following an early mistake of Marco. Kaufmann though stroke back with a win in A2, meaning the decision over the overall win would be made in the third and final A-main. From the tone both tried to open a gap on the field and due to the tight nature of the track overtaking was difficult and so Marco would hold the upper hand to take the win in A3 and with it the overall victory from Tim Wahl and Dominic Vogl (Yokomo).

Simon Kurzbuch TQs IFMAR 1/8th Worlds in Brazil

The 2015 IFMAR 1/8th Nitro On-road World Championships are taking place this week in Americana City, Brazil, around 160 kilometres away from Sao Paulo. The event attracted around 75 drivers, most of which are from Brazil and Argentina, to compete at the Zeca Elias high-speed track whose concrete barriers are not allowing for many mistakes to be made. So far the temperatures were hot all week, varying between 27 and 32 degrees Celsius but up until now the rain has passed the track daily, with only a small shower that caused a delay of round 5. Racing wise Swiss ace Simon Kurzbuch has pretty much dominated the qualifying which is run using the points system. On Wednesday Simon made a clean sweep by winning three of the three qualifiers and another round TQ in the fourth qualifier on Thursday as well as a second place in the final round, following a DNF in round five, cemented Simon’s overall TQ with Takaaki Shimo on the 2 spot and Dario Balestri rounding out the top 3. The lower finals are set for Friday with the quarter, semi and main final to be held on Saturday.

The 2nd Annual Georgia Indoor Championships was once again hosted by HotshotRC Raceway in Marietta, GA. The track was beautifully manicured, hard packed, pure Georgia red clay. Rivals seek to deny Xray home EOS win

The Euro Offroad Series takes competitors to Slovakia this weekend (20-22 November) with the Hudy Racing Arena playing host to the second round of Season #5, the venue having hosted the championship’s final & deciding round last season. After a double win at the 2015/16 season opener at the Nurburgring in Germany in September, it is reigning 2 and 4WD Champion Lee Martin who heads the entry but the Yokomo driver is fully expectant of a tough weekend at what is the home track of Xray and their new 4WD World Champion Bruno Coelho.
