RSD RR12V2 & T4 aluminium main chassis

Following the 7075-T6 aluminium main chassis set for the Xray X12’16, Reflex Racing also introduced a specific variant for the RR12V2 as well as an alloy chassis for the Xray T4 line of touring cars. Starting with the RR12V2 alloy chassis kit, the set includes a black anodised and strategically milled chassis that ups the weight of the car by roughly 20g which in turn can be reduced by using lightweight electronics, screws and accessories. The chassis was developed to bring the centre of gravity as low as possible and it also includes a matching, thin carbon fibre rear lower pod plate.

The 2016 edition of the famous Thailand International Touring Car Championship, TITC, was held this past week at the RC Addict track in Bangkok with around 250 drivers attending in various electric on-road classes. Super hot asphalt temperatures of sometimes above 60 degree Celsius combined with a somewhat bumpy track made for challenging conditions for the drivers who had to seek for a setup that allowed for consistent lap times over the five minute runs. In the Touring Modified class Xray’s Bruno Coelho made the best out of the conditions and he would grab the overall TQ after the qualifiers by winning three of the six qualifying rounds. The Yokomo duo of Meen Vejrak and Ronald Völker would line up in second and third while Marc Rheinard (Tamiya) and Alexander Hagberg (Xray) would round out the top 5 result.

Jilles Groskamp leaves HPI/HB

Jilles Groskamp leaves HPI/HB

The latest driver to announce his departure from the HPI/HB on-road team, Jilles Groskamp has declared the mutual termination of his contract with the Asian company. The news probably ends a series of contract terminations and non-renewals that leaves the company without a factory electric on-road team. Jilles so far remained silent about his racing future and for now he has the following to say:

From today I […] like to announce that I will leave HB/HPI Racing. Both parties have mutual agreed to split after TITC. I would like to thank Tatsuro Watanabe for his support over the last year and I wish him and his company the best for the future. Further thanks goes to all members and old members from HB/HPI Racing. A new opportunaty is waiting for me and soon I will announce my next move in my career.
