Maclan Racing MR8 1/8th brushless motors

Maclan Racing have introduced their all-new MR8 series of 1/8th competition brushless motors. Designed from the ground up for 4S LiPo racing classes, the completely rebuildable motors feature a machined heatsink design can, oversized precision ball bearings, heavy duty solder tabs and and a sensored, fixed timing design. The MR8 is available in a 1950kv and a 2150kv variant.

PSM RC8B3 alloy wheel hexes & steering posts

German company PSM have introduced new aluminium option parts for the Team Associated RC8B3 in the form of +1.5mm wheel hex drives and lightweight steering posts. Starting with the wheel hexes, the parts are CNC-machined from 6012-T6 aluminium and they offer an increased offset of 1.5mm for increased track width. A special EV2 coating makes for improved protection while strategically milled section reduce the overall weight. The other new part are the 7075-T6 aluminium steering posts for the RC8B3 buggy and RC8T3 truggy. The posts are of a very light weight while offering extreme rigidity. Like the wheel hex drives the steering posts come EV2 coated for wear and they also include a pair of M4x6mm black steel screws.

3rd Annual Lonestar Challenge – Announcement

The 3rd Annual Lonestar Challenge will be held from April 22nd to 24th at the Thornhill Racing Circuit. Recent renovations turned the track into was is possibly the largest covered off-road facility in the World. The event will be held in the usual array of 1/8th off-road as well as 4×4 Short Course classes and it acts not only as the ROAR Fuel Offroad Nationals warm-up but it is also a round to the U.S. Pro Cup. Brandon Clements wins at CTS season opener

Brandon Clements wins at CTS season opener

The opening round of the 2016 California Touring Series was held at 209 RC Raceway in Stockton, California. In the Touring Modified A-main, Yokom driver Eric Albano led the field but had some bad luck. The battle then was between Brandon Clemens (Awesomatix) and Rick Hohwart (Team Associated) and ultimately Brandon came out victorious to grab the Touring Modified win at round one. Rick’s Team Associated team mate Randy Caster would complete the podium result behind Rick.

Team Associated introduce two new jackets

Coming from Team Associated are two new jackets. First up is the Lite jacket, offering a 100 percent polyester shell and jersey lining with mesh insets for added breathability the jacket has just the right amount of weather protection. It features articulated elbows for greater mobility and half elastic, half self-fabric cuffs for comfort. Side pockets and a draw cord hem with toggles round out the features list. The jacket comes with embroidered front and back Team Associated logos.

Mark Green signs with Matrix Tires

Italian company Matrix Tires have announced the signing of multiple British Champion, Mark Green to their international factory team. Veteran in both the 1/8th and the 1/10th 200mm classes, Mark will compete in the BRCA National Championship, at the European and World Championships, and the Euro Nitro Series while being a key figure in supporting Matrix customers track side.

Jacques Libar wins Tonisport Wintercup

Jacques Libar wins Tonisport Wintercup

The fifth round of the Tonisport Wintercup was held at the MAC Adenau carpet indoor track in several electric on-road classes. Jaques Libar would be the man to beat in the Formula category as he managed to win all qualifying rounds to grab the overall TQ after the qualifiers. He also set a new track record with a 12.073s in the progress. The finals then again saw a clean sweep of Jacque who took an easy win in A1 and A2 while A3 was a different affair as setup changes he made lead to an oversteering and traction-rolling car. Nevertheless he won the leg with a margin of about two laps. Runner-up Kevin Gehrke and third placed Jörn Mayers completed the top 3. Overall the win handed Jacques the 2015/16 Tonisport Wintercup title from Kevin Gehrke and Raymond Libar.

Alex Thurston joins Serpent Europe

Alex Thurston joins Serpent Europe

Serpent have announced the signing of 2015 BRCA 1/10th Nitro On-road Champion, Alex Thurston to their team. Alex’ 2016 campaign will include a full season of BRCA National races, all ENS events, the Worlds in Gubbio as well as selected 1/10th Electric and 1/8th Nitro races. Alex had the following to say:

I am very proud to join the Serpent team, We have a fantastic team which is really doing well now and showing how good our products really are so I am very happy to join the team. Because I am young I can be mentored by the more experienced guys around me in the team in order to gain more knowledge as well. I would just like to thank all the guys at Team Serpent for giving me this opportunity to join the team. I think this year my racing package is as strong as it has ever been so I believe that the results are there.
